  1. Thank you for the response. I do see that it states to deactivate it in the "Finish Line" page. I had not gotten that far in the guide, but was taking it slow and testing along the way--trying to understand each step along the way (As I said, I want this to be the last time I try and install a Skyrim mod setup without playing it due to crashes!).
  2. Lexy and others, Thank you so much for this guide. I'm slowly working through it. I've been modding Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim for years, and damn it, this time I'm going to play it! Anyways, I have a quick question on the optional SSE-Terrain-Tamriel.esm. Is this something that gets installed permanently? Or do I just install it and use it for LOD generation? I'm assuming I leave it installed and checked, but it's not 100% clear. Thank you!
  3. Thanks for the reply zilav. The problem was with Tamriel Reloaded HD. Removing that fixed both issues. Thanks, knowing the .dds file helped me track it down.
  4. First, thanks for any help you can provide. I'm having an issue with my current mod install attempt. As far as stability goes, I can up the speedmult and run around without crashing, and FPS seems to generally be good. But, I have a few graphic issues that I'm having trouble narrowing down. 1. I'm seeing some weird LOD issues: 2. Also, some tree/plant textures are showing up extremely zoomed in and blurry: Any advice would be appreciated. I've been looking through my mods and I don't see many that I think would modify this. I tried unchecking SFO, but the problem persisted. I have everything setup and I use Wrye Bash's installer, so I monitor what overwrites what. Here is my load order: Active Mod Files: Thank you so much for any assistance. As for system specs, I am running an Radeon 280 4GB card with the latest drivers installed. I am using the Vividian ENB preset, and I've made the necessary ini edits and edited the enblocal ini. I can post those if you think it is related to ENB. Thanks again!YuMMz
  5. Thought I would bring this thread back to the forefront as this mod deserves more attention. The author has updated both the requirements only and full version quite a bit. A MCM configuration menu is implemented in the requirements only version that easily lets you define how many radiant quests before each stage. The full version also make some nice lore-friendly changes and improves options available. I am becoming a big fan of the mod, and am really looking forward to his next full version which he anticipates being released in 3-6 weeks. I consider this a "must-have" as the original companions requirements were ridiculous. I complete one brawling quest and they immediately offer me the proving honor quest? It moves at an almost comical pace. On a side note: I am also a big fan of his Enhanced Skyrim Followers: Aela mod, which complements this nicely. https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/11450
  6. I used close to the full 2.2.0a guide. Just took a few of the minor mods out that I did not want. I installed pretty much everything through Wrye Bash and organized my installers with Markers, etc. It was a little time consuming, took me about good portion of a day to get it all set up. Aside from STEP, I use all of Arthmoor's mods, Economics of Skyrim, Diverse Guards, Body mods for male/female, a series of armor mods, UFO, Deadly Dragons, Dance of Death, Duel, Apocalypse, Achieve That!, and a few quest mods. BOSS is a godsend for organizing the load order and Bash is a godsend for seeing exactly what files will overwrite other files. I can tell you that people are reluctant to buy into Bash sometimes, but once you take the time and set up and organize your installers, you will never go back. NMM is nice for the occasional mod, SkyUI or RLO, but I've used Bash since Oblivion and would never go back. It is the only way I ever achieve a playable stable experience.
  7. Started using this mod and it does add a nice bit to immersion. Nice to see people out wandering. I will note that this added a Cultist (think that was the name) to the road early that attacked my lvl 3 character. There was no feasible way I could win this fight (was just outside Riverwood). It did not bother me much, as I consider having undefeatable enemies early as normal, but might put off some others.
  8. Popped in to post my support for this mod. Lighting looks great and it is running fine with CoT and Wet & Cold. Stable game, no crashes.
  9. I can vouch for UFO in that I am 57 hours into a game without a single crash. The mod seems to work as advertised. But, I understand your reluctance. On the plus side, UFO does have a built in uninstall mechanism if it did cause problems.
  10. Just popped in to reaffirm that I've played over 40 hours now and never seen the tree problem again. Was definitely the diversity plugin for me. Disabled it once just to test and tree problem immediately resurfaced. This was using the TPC install, so it may not be pulling all the SFO textures. Odd that reinstalling fixed it for you Cestral, must have been a graphic setting? Weird. Oh, and thanks again to the STEP people. My game has been rock solid, not a single crash. Hell, not even a FPS stutter.
  11. Awesome, thanks for the help guys. It was the Diversity plugin. I should have read the readme, Vurt states that if you do not use diversity, you have to remove two tree files. I was just following the TPC instructions, which stated that diversity was optional. Once I loaded both esps and put the diversity plugin second, the tree problems stopped. They look great now! Thanks again! I would have been stumped since the problem existed even after disabling flora overhaul. Also, this was with the 1.76b version. An admin can mark this one as solved.
  12. Then I must have done something wrong, because I know that they should not be shaking like they are. Here are some pics to hopefully show you what I mean.
  13. Hello, First, thanks to everyone who is involved in STEP. This guide is extremely helpful to someone like me. I have followed STEP 2.2.0a that is on Nexus. I installed the core and about 60-70% of the optional mods. When I start the game I noticed that certain trees are shaking with the wind. I think this is a feature of one of the mods, since the animation starts, speeds up and then winds down. I figured it would be something with Climates of Tamriel or Vurts Flora Overhaul, so I disabled both of those, but the shaking still persists. I don't really like this feature, and was wondering if someone could enlighten me to which mods is causing it. I have everything installed through Bash, so I should be able to easily remove the mod. Here is my mod list, although I installed a lot of texture packs, so it might not be that useful. Also, I used the TPC 1.91 and had it pull from about 90% of the mods listed there as well. I skipped "lush trees". Thanks in advance! YuMMz
  14. Just wanted to pop in and say that I also had issues with more dynamic shadows. Was getting weird stuttering and when I dropped back to shadow striping fix it went away. It could be a result of other mods as I add about 18-20 more than STEP, but thought I would report it anyways. Also, thanks for everyone's work on this! The game looks great.
