Question

Posted (edited)
Hi.

So i decided to combine step guide with perkus maximus, but after installing/reinstalling/deactivating possible conflicts/deactivating all mods except perma and game core/"trying (with my skill)" to clean .esn with tes5edit/setting right order from pama forums load order/setting only loot order i still getting one error. It seems like , after importing and patching, MO puts difference in "overwrite" folder, which is readonly. Then patch tries to export files from that folder, it stops, giving error at step 21/22 - validating length it called, error massage includes Files/tmp.esp or (null), which ends up overwrite folder, after exiting patcher. I tried making folder not readonly, MO doesnt allow that.

I have spent all day at that error, and now i dont even want to play skyrim.

Help please.

By the way, if i launch patcher not by MO/but in mo mod folder, it cant find skyrim/dawnguard/hearthfire/dragonborn patch.

If i move patcher folder to main data folder, i getting similar error, but , if i remember right, it finds skyrim only.

If i create mod, that only contains failed patcher files, it creates that, but it cannot replace it with new ones.

After editing with t5edit, im getting massage that new files cant be renamed to their default values, and they staying in overwrite with *.esp.save.numbers* addition to the name.

Welcome to STEP @shinigamixas

From what you describe can I assume you have installed both Skyrim and MO into the "Program Files" folder? If so that is probably you reason for your difficulties.

MO's 'Overwrite' folder should NEVER be set to readonly, and the only reason I can think it might be is because MO is now in a folder controlled by Windows's UAC and your OS is hindering you from accessing the folder.

STEP recommends installing your games and the tools you use outside of these folders for this reason.

The easiest resolution would be to just move MO out of this folder into a folder all its own, something like C:\Games\Tools\MO, or whatever takes your fancy.

If you so wish moving Skyrim out of that folder also will be helpful. Steam has a FAQ setup to show how to move your games to a new location.

In adition to this may I suggest you watch some of the STEP video tutorials and perhaps try the STEP guide to install the base for your mods.

No, path to my skyrim folder is like that "D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Skyrim".
To mod orginizer "D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Mod Organizer".
I have set UAC control to minimum level.
Ok, i made a mistake saying that MO was incharge of "readonly" folder atributes.
The answer is that all folders should be readonly, but files doesnt.
Official MS answer.
Well, now i dont even have a clue what is problem.People with similar issue:

Asynchronous log.txt

Export patchusMaximus.esp.txt

I think error starts at

[Validate] Target file does NOT exist: Files\tmp.esp

from asynchromys log. This file ends up in overwrite folder.

Deleting 64 bit java from my pc allowed me to run debug version of putcher from MO, but still same error.

Coping files from overwrite folder and placing them in skyre patch folder didnt help.

Tes5edit fails to rename save files from overwrite folder and after pathching with skyproc patcher, sometimes im getting error that java failed to open thread to save files.

MO can't run 64bit applications so if the patcher you are running works ONLY with 64bit Java then that will be a problem. As I don't run any patcher style tools, I'm not sure what the current status is on those.

However I can see one issue from the logs you provided. There is a missing BSA in your setup, the message says: "Could not get Morskom.bsa". Check to make sure MO is managing your archives and that this BSA is checked and active when you run the patcher.

I deleted morksom estate mod, but error didnt dissapear.

I think that only solution is reinstalling MO with all mods.

Also I think main mistake with

[Validate] Target file does NOT exist: Files\tmp.esp

Patch simly cant find this file. I could try to simply rename tmp.esp to patchus maximus and put it in load order, but im not sure this will work.

Anyway, thanks for help.
