MO doesn't detect that Steam is running

Question

Posted

I'm a little desperate here .... MO no longer recognizes that Steam is running and when I finally confirm that it is, it doesn't load SKSE but brings up the TES menu. If I continue through the menu, the game crashes before it load (because the mods weren't loading, I just realized). I can start a new game; I can't get it to load SKSE.

I did try HIALGOBOOST GPU UPGRADE last night and updated a few mods plus added one. I did do a re-install of Steam and a re-install of Mod Organizer.

Update: I cannot load Steam normally. I have to change the comparability to Windows XP (Service Pack2). Unfortunately Mod Organizer doesn't seem to recognize Steam and won't run the current game.

I have the newer version of MO. I tried it anyway but It tells me that that file is already there and then incurs errors when I try to overwrite the file.

I don't know. I re-installed steam and everything. It was working fine on Monday night. Then Tuesday, it wouldn't load.

Then I think the problem lies with Steam and not with Mod Organizer. Fix Steam and that should fix Mod Organizer.

That being said, I cannot see how you might fix Steam.

I figured ... just toss it here n hope someone else might have the same problem. Steam support is taking forever to respond.
