I am at a loss of what to try next to fix my install.  I am currently running just base SR:LE. I keep running into this same problem, and have tried everything I can think of to fix it, short of completely uninstalling Skyrim and redownloading all of my mod files (in case one is corrupted). Here is my issue, best I can explain it:

 

I installed a fresh SR:LE after having this issue on my last install of the guide, I used the same mod files (except ones that had been updated in the guide since).  I get to the end of the Animation section and since I was having problems here in my last install I run the game to see if the persist in this fresh one. They problems do exist on this fresh install, I finished off the install hoping it would resolve itself after patches, but no.  The problem I am having is the same almost every single time. 

 

I start a fresh game, and choose the Alternate Start "I am a warlock's thrall".  I let the mods load up, and then I sleep in the bed.  It loads just fine and I run outside, run straight ahead until I get to a rock structure with a mage NPC and I let him kill me, sometimes wolves will kill me as well.  As soon as I'm dead it goes to where it would typically transistion to the loading screen and it CTD's.  Sometimes it will not crash on that NPC but it will crash on another NPC a few minutes later, it also occurs with animals on occasion.  I have tried a couple different Alternate Starts and can replicate the same problem.  I have noticed it primarily happening outside, it does not seem to happen inside.

 

My first though was to disable mods in batches to see what was causing the problem, and this is where I got confused.  I can get it to run and not crash on death if I don't have XP32 or any associated mods running (Dual Sheath Redux mainly).  I posted on XP32 mod page and he said if it is not happning inside it is not the skeleton, which makes sense to me, so I figure it must either be a corrupt install or some other mod.  I reinstalled XP32 and associated mods, and the problem keeps happening.

 

Each time I am starting a new game, running FNIS and other associated patchers in the correct orde, and it is still happening. I decided to completely restart SR:LE and hope that fixes it, and it doesn't.  I have no idea wht is wrong or how to fix it.

 

Anyone have any ideas for me?  I am going crazy...

My log looked like how it is supposed to look.  But I tried it anyway, I don't think that that is the problem, but thanks!

 

 

Have you tried a new download of Live another life? The way you describe the issue suggests not.

Yes I have tried a new download of that, sorry that wasn't mentioned.

I just reinstalled Skyrim completely, and cleaned the ESMs again.  Still crashing.

I then tried disabling all mods, and leaving ONLY (in order) these mods enabled?

Still getting the crashes... any help at all?  I really have no idea whats wrong.

So now after freshly downloading those few mods I had enabled the crash still happens upon being killed by an NPC.

 

 

Here is the most recent papyrus log, after reinstalling all freshly downloaded mods.  Looks the same as before I think.

Try leaving all but disabling the esp that comes with xpms. Think I saw some discussion on this issue in their comment thread.

 

I think that has stopped the crashing. Since I have the plugin disabled I am unable to follow the steps in the guide regarding "Character Creation", will this be a problem as I cannot select the correct weapon animations? I haven't looked much myself yet, but is there any reason why this happens, or any way to fix it? Thanks so much for the solution though this was driving me crazy, I just couldn't pinpoint the problem. I love your guide and have been following it since before it was "Legendary Edition", thanks so much for all you do!!

Just as a Public Service Announcement (PSA): Race Menu has been updated (i.e. NiOverride) and the crashes are now solved. Should be safe to go back to the regular install. :)
