SteamMover compatible with STEP and MO?

Question

Posted

Hello there,

I'm going to play and mod Skyrim for the first time and I would like to take advantage of my SSD for this game.

Can I just use SteamMover to move it there and not worry about having any problem whatsoever with STEP and Mod Organizer or is it better to perform a clean install on the SSD directly?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Monkee

Steam itself now supports having games on different drives. When Steam Mover was written this wasn't the case. There are descriptions on the net of the steps needed to move a Steam game from one drive to another. If you don't want to download the files you can copy them to the new game folder (e.g., on my system Steam is on an HDD and on my SSD there is a another copy of Steam installed on G:\SteamGames (installed by Steam) and Skyrim is on G:\SteamGames\SteamApps\common\Skyrim). You will still need to validate the local content through Steam, but it won't need to redownload everything.
