Question

Posted

just finished installing almost every mod in STEP.......wheww

Just noticed there is no weapons/armor vanilla retextures?

Or am I missing something, are they included in one of the big texture packs?

Weapons, Armor and Clothing were removed for consistency and immersion testing. Perhaps a few will survive it and be back in 2.3

We have raised our standards yet again :P

Is there any I can install for the meantime like Millenia Weapon Retexture?

Something that enhances the vanilla weapons/armors? Can you advise.

They won't conflict with thinner blades would they?

You can install whatever you want. Just make sure that if you're adding textures with mods like Immersive Armors, instead of replacing the vanilla textures, you should always rebuild the bashed patch afterwards.

does anyone know if the STEP textures has already upgraded vanilla weapons/armor textures?

Besides the HR-DLC from Bethesda and USKP that might fix some bad textures, there is nothing that replaces either armours or weapons. Fri just confirmed that in the first reply, anyway.

There are some armor/weapon texture replacers in the TPC from Skyrim HD.

Amulets & Rings

Circlets

Dragonbone/scale armor, weapons and masks

Ancient nord armor

male thieves guild armor shoes ^^

barkeeper/blacksmith/wench clothing

dragonpriest staff

nightingalebow

No idea of the quality of it though since I've always removed it from the combined folder.

Our top picks at the moment for going into STEP 2.3 are Millenia Weapon Retexture and the aMidianBorn Armor series by CaBaL

UHWT textures are going to be fixed at some point, he's including the shields too, and his textures replace all models, so if they're decent enough, they could make it into STEP, since the overall quality of the textures would be unchanged.

As fri said, CaBaL's armour retextures are certainly going to make it into one of the next STEP releases, there are no better vanilla retextures from what I've seen, bar some armours by Hvergelmir.

Millenia Weapon Retextures are certainly the best looking, but they only replace a few eapons.

For additional models, I feel that Jaysus Swords and Immersive Armours are probably the best lore-friendly packs out there.

Some of the armor mods are specific to a particular body such as UNP or CBBE; there are some reasonable replacer armors for both of these. There has been some discussion of Immersive Armors in these forums.
