Need help from someone with a r9 290 card or similar

Question

Posted (edited)

Hello, I just wanted to ask, if someone with a r9 290 could test this setings for me, by writing COC riverwood I have enb boost installed skse and this ini files, that's it, no mods, just want to know if the fps is normal for exactly that scene when you load in from coc riverwood with no looking around.

My fps for this settings are between 50-60, With this setting I got rid of all popins and z fighting, with all my mods from step i get about 40-50 fps. Just want to know if it's normal for no mods and just this setings to get such fps:

Heya!

I have a bios-flashed 290x (originally a 290) with water-cooling and a heavy OC - and I'd say those numbers are in the right ballpark. That particular spot - i.e., when you do a coc to Riverwood, then enter into the village - is well known for poor fps. Once you're actually past the gate, fps should pick up again. I even get better fps when I turn around and walk back through in the opposite direction. I wouldn't let those particular numbers disturb you too much

they are not disturbing me, just wanted to know if people have the sam eresults so that i know it's not a bad graphic card or something. And if I may ask how did you flash your card to a 290x?

Those inis look pretty demanding, so running 50/60fps is very good :)
I also have an r9 290 and was getting around that, I have an 8350 though which is holding me back :/

You should grab an ENB :D

kinda what mix said

Im assuming you're using ENB

bFloatPointRenderTarget = 1

setting grids to 7 is pretty heavy, especially on a modded game
revert the uGridsToLoad back to 5
and uExterior Cell Buffer = 36
you're going to have to look that up

trust me, you wont need these

If you think you do, you would be mistaken
bEnableLogging = 0
bEnableTrace = 0
bLoadDebugInformation = 0

type tg in the in-game console and report the change in FPS

Heya Minos!

About bios flashing 290s to 290x's: It's a fairly common thing with Radeons that certain 2nd tier cards (like a 290) - typically reference card released early in the production cycle - can be successfully bios-flashed to be indistinguishable from a card one step higher up the hierarchy (like a 290x). I bought mine early on from a vendor known to have a high rate of success with card-flashing and got lucky. Actually puting land shadows to 0 gave me the fps boost i needed :D. I have no enb yet. First want to make sure that evry mod is working like it should. What enb do you recomend so it is not to demending

I set ugrids to 7 cause of popins. I don't like it when i see when structures or trees pop into existance. I will remove the loging when i know that evrything is working without a problem. Tnx for the info. And same question as before you maybe recomend any enb? I am using 0.262 cause i read that the new one being 0.264 is having problems with amd cards
