0 Walter_ODim Posted November 7, 2014 Author Posted November 7, 2014 (edited) Yeah well. it's not working. Anyone can paste a target and Start in locations, so i can make my own shortcuts ? Edited November 7, 2014 by Walter_ODim
0 DoubleYou Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Well, if that's not working, then I would rather you figure out what is preventing it from working, as it probably is a sign of a bigger problem.
0 Walter_ODim Posted November 8, 2014 Author Posted November 8, 2014 I created custom shortcut instead, everything works. Problem with MO not solved, but thread can be closed.
0 Tannin Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 You solved the problem for exactly one person: yourself. That's not how a community works.
0 Walter_ODim Posted November 9, 2014 Author Posted November 9, 2014 (edited) I didn't solve the problem, the shortcut feature from MO is still not working for me, i just made shortcut and typed target described in the video. Target : D:\ModOrganizer\ModOrganizer.exe "D:\Steam Games\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\skse_loader.exe"Start in : D:\ModOrganizer Edited November 9, 2014 by Walter_ODim

0 GrantSP Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 I didn't solve the problem, the shortcut feature from MO is still not working for me, i just made shortcut and typed target described in the video. Target : D:\ModOrganizer\ModOrganizer.exe "D:\Steam Games\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\skse_loader.exe"Start in : D:\ModOrganizerI'm assuming your naming convention here is that there are no spaces and it isn't a quirk of the forum code to remove them. ie 'ModOrganizer' isn't actually 'Mod Organizer'? Even so try placing double quotes around the first executable path in the 'Target' field. "D:\ModOrganizer\ModOrganizer.exe" "D:\Steam Games\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\skse_loader.exe" Could you provide the MO generated shortcut details as well as your hand-made one?
0 Walter_ODim Posted November 11, 2014 Author Posted November 11, 2014 (edited) MO is not generating any shortcuts, that is the problem, and i gave the details of my hand-made one above (everything works just fine). Edited November 11, 2014 by Walter_ODim
0 Tannin Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 MO gives no message whatsoever (also not in the log window at the bottom) when it fails to create the shortcut? The icon of the "create shortcut" opton doesn't change?
0 Walter_ODim Posted November 11, 2014 Author Posted November 11, 2014 No messages at all, the icon stays the same.
0 GrantSP Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 (edited) Are you using any tool like 'Fences' that might be adjusting the location of the 'desktop'?ie. the shortcuts are being created but they are not visible/ Edited November 11, 2014 by GrantSP
0 txapollo243 Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 (edited) I have the same problem, but in my case there is a warning message. When I try to create a Desktop shortcut for SKSE from inside Mod Organizer (click on Shortcut, select Desktop from drop-down list), the following message is given in an Error window: failed to create C:/Users/<my username>/Desktop/SKSE.lnk Where <my username> is a placeholder for my Windows account name. My operating system is Windows 10 64-bit Home. The Desktop folder has full permissions for the current user (me). The account has administrator privileges. if this post is considered late, I am sorry beforehand for necromancing a thread. I didn't want to create a new thread since this is already on-topic.
