Questions and suggestions about Load order of 2.N. (Patches)

Question

Posted

First, I want to thank all of you for the effort you put into this project. I also donated some bucks for the expenses.

Secondly, ist my second time I installed STEP (just loose files manual install without managers). The last time was 2.2.0 before dragonborn was released. I paused playing Skyrim and now want a fresh start with 2.2.9 Extended.

Now, I followed the guide, installed everything as explained and it just works very well. Nevertheless, I have some questions and ideas fort he wiki guide:

1. I still get 2 warnings from LOOT with the DLC (6 files as I remember). I can tell you more this evening when I’m at home. Is this still correct or did I miss something? I cleanded the Upodate.esm as well as dawnguard, dragonborn and hearthfire.

2. Consistent older people: It would be nice if you can edit the page with a hint that you should disable the plugin till BOYD is activated (if used)

3. 2.N. Patches - Bashed patch (Loot Warning passage): I suggest adding the meta rule for STEP Core/Extenden patch (priority)

4. 2.N. Patches - Bashed patch creation: Between 4 and 5 (rebuild patch) I get a warning about one mod (I think it was some sound mod) I should deactivate. I did as asked and continued with 5. Correct?

5. 2.N. Patches (Bashed/Better Shaped Eapons/Dual Sheath Redux) load order: It is not clear in which order we have to install these patches (Notice:Rebuild the Bashed Patch again each time the plugin load list/order changes..) (Warning:Each time you change your load order, you should rerun the DSR Patch to remake the patch. Failure to do so may lead to a CTD upon startup.).

My install/creation order now:

-   Step Extended

-   Fores New Idles

-   Dual Sheath Redux

-   Better Shaped Weapons

-   Bashed Patch

Is this correct?

  • I'm guessing you forgot to clean Dawnguard twice.
  • We probably should do that.
  • Perhaps for consistency. I used that as a fail-safe for those people who like to rush through the guide.
  • Correct. The mod was Traps Make Noise.
  • Not correct. It should mirror the guide order. Doesn't hurt to rerun all the patchers if you're unsure.
