Good place to find or buy light armor?

Early in the game and notice that in Witerun and Riverwood, traders mainly seem to be selling heavy armor. Where are good places to buy good light armor, or good quests or dungeons to find it? Thanks.

The inventory will be random. That early in the game (pre-elven), it may be better to make your own Leather armour. I suspect the balance should be more even than you have found this playthrough. Hide, fur and leather vs iron and a bit of steel. You would expect more light than heavy.

 

Depending on the mods you are using you may be able to hunt and kill every creature Around Whiterun and also every bandit then either use what they have or break it down and craft Leather.
