Question

Posted (edited)

System Specs:  Not applicable

Mod Manager:  MOD Organizer 1.1.2

  Reveal hidden contents

STEP:  Followed completely (as far as I am aware -- I used the STEP guide when installing Skyrim)

INI Tweaks:  None.

Description:

When I load a bunch of CBBE armors into Mod Organizer (and then check the box), I go to bodyslide 2.0, but only the short list of default stuff that Caliente provides appears.  All of the armors I installed do not appear on the list.  What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

Can you confirm you've exactly followed the steps described on the BodySlide mod page, under Troubleshooting -> #1 "How to use the program with Mod Organizer"?

Specifically:

  Reveal hidden contents

I would add a point 8 to that list as well, which is pretty obvious but I'll mention just to be completely safe:

8. Whenever you want to run Bodyslide, do so through MO, by selecting Bodyslide from the executable dropdown (top right of the MO window) and clicking Run (same way you execute SKSE, Boss, etc.)

If you've followed their 7 steps, then when you run Bodyslide.exe through MO, it will have access to all mods installed through MO and therefore should see any custom armour mods you've installed in MO.

Note: I haven't used BodySlide or CBBE armours before, nor have I checked if the STEP guide provides its own instructions for CBBE/BodySlide.  But I just checked the mod page, and the list of instructions it includes for MO sound exactly right to me, and the problem you describe sounds like it could well be caused by not running BodySlide in the correct way.

If you followed a different guide to using BodySlide in MO, could you a) link me to that guide  b) cross-reference it against the instructions on the Bodyslide page, that I mention above, and see if there's any difference in what you did compared to what they suggest.

Well, my own bodyslide issues seem to be cleared up by the latest MO beta (yayy!), so

Make sure you have all the mods that might add presets ticked in MO. There are a few that add XML data for presets and if you don't tick them, you don't see them in MO. The HDT conversions are particularly easy to miss, but looking at your load order, you're probably ok. Still, never hurts to double check :)

Make sure you have Bodyslide2 ticked if you're using it, and make sure your MO shortcut points to the BS2 exe and not the one in the original Bodyslide mod. If you use TexBlend, that'll still need to reference the one in the original bodyslide folder.

Anything in particular you're missing?

Hi,

I have the same situation and have been struggling with it for some time.  I have everything set up correctly as explained ad some things are running as they should.

I have been searching for a long time for anything that explains how to use Body Slide (preferably a video) but have not found anything.

At this time, to take things one at a time.  How should this be installed?

I have downloaded "Merta Assassin Armor UNP-CBBE.  With it "Merta Assasssin Armor UNP-CBBE - Bodyslide Files" and "Merta Assassin Tattoos.

the armor shows up at the forge.  Nothing shows up within Body Slide.  I have no clue how to attempt to get the tattoos.

How do I get this to work????  Or where can I go to find the answers???

Thanks For Reading!

Make sure you expand the top folder to show the "data" folder and set that as the top level.

Aside from that there is nothing MO specific about installing these mods, any issues you have with running them should be made in the mod's forum page.

I just quickly grabbed and installed these mods you listed and I found no issue myself, Bodyslide shows the presets and the in-game creation also provides all the options such as tattoos. (You do need to set the texture by hitting "T" when in the menu and then select each one instead having "default" as listed.)

Hi Grant,

Thank you for the response.

Nexus has changed their site so that may have some created some of the issue.  I re downloaded the three mods again to start with a clean start.

When installing the second mod "Body Slide Files", after selecting set data directory I still get "No game data on top level".  I selected "OK".  I get "this mod was probably NOT set up correctly".  I chose "Ignore".  Then I get "This mod seems to be installed already.  Do I want to add files from this archive ----".  I chose to "Merge".

When installing the third mod "Tattoos", after selecting set data directory I get "Looks Good".  I select "OK".  I then get "This mod seems to be installed already.-------".  I select "Merge".  After Ticking the mod in the Left side list I get "There are potential problems with your set up.   It states that there are "Missing Masters".

I must be doing something wrong.  Where do I go from here?

The Nexus redo of their site has nothing to do with the installation of these mods.

From what you have described these specific mods are installed correctly. None of them have any masters other than Skyrim.esm so that message is not related to this installation setup.

Again, any issues you have with enabling the features of BodySlide should be directed to its own mod page.

I did not intend of placing blame on Nexus, more my knot using it properly.  I was having some difficulty signing in and downloading at first because of the new environment.  I did re download the mods just to make sure I had a fresh start.  After I reinstalled them it stopped the CTDs.  The items do show up in the game but unfortunately the armor does not fit the character and I still do not have the tattoos.   This is just ignorance on my part.  I will keep searching for a resolution to learning how to operate Body Slide and Outfit Studio.  You have been quite helpful and I do appreciate it.  I am just a damned old fool trying to enjoy Skyrim.

Thanks Grant.
