Question

Posted

I know if i don´t use all the mods with the STEP Extended pack i can´t run the game using the STEP PATCH.

But my question: how can i modify the step patch so i can erase references to the mods i don´t use?

I know I have to use TES5Edit, but I have been searching the forum but i couldnt find how to do it.

You need to put the esp into your data folder because T5E won't boot with missing masters.

Method 1:

Look through the entries of the mod you wish to cut. You should see some records being overwritten by the STEP patch. Go to the STEP patch and simply delete the records.

Method 2:

Look through the entries of the STEP patch and see which records overwrite records from the mod you wish to cut. Delete those records.

When you found all the records rightclick on the STEP patch esp and click clean masters, done! If the mod you want to remove from the patch didn't disappear from the masters list, you forgot a record.

Both methods work fine, one will probably be a little faster depending on the number of records in the mod. Note that cleaning masters may remove some manually added masters as well. Those masters are irrelevant for the functionality of the patch, they where added to make sure users install all the mods patched.

I have try to load the step patch with T5e (previously copied into the data folder). But I have this error:

....

[00:11] Background Loader: [sTEP Extended Patch.esp] Adding master "ADS.esp"
[00:11] Background Loader: [sTEP Extended Patch.esp] Adding master "AOS.esp"
[00:11] Background Loader: [sTEP Extended Patch.esp] Adding master "Ars Metallica.esp"
[00:11] Background Loader: [Ars Metallica.esp] Loading file
[00:11] Background Loader: Fatal: <EOSError: System Error.  Code: 2.
El sistema no puede encontrar el archivo especificado>
[00:18] Background Loader: finished

I don´t use ars metallica.esp, so i have the error and i can´t clean it!

Are you installing 2.2.8? I'm guessing you are. Install Ars Metallica and the ARs DB add on. Go ahead and load TES5Edit. Go to the Falseed Tern record and you'll see there is a part of the record that is only from Ars. Delete that part of the record then look that no more records exist from Ars or it's DLC addons and you are good to go. I wouldn't delete the while Falseed Tern record because it would mean you need to add the DB Falseed Tern plugin from SMIM back into your load order.

Thanks for your help, but i am doing something wrong!

1) I launch TE5 from MO

2) i have to search the master /plugin selection -> i choose STEP EXTENDED PATCHES and deselect the others

3) After a while evertyhing is loaded. I go to the tab in the left and to STEP EXTENDED patch.ESP. Ii expand everything and i look every entry in the tab "reference by"

4) if there is a reference with a mod i won´t use y delete that reference

is it right?

is there any filter to see all the entries related with ars or another mod?
