Help with the stuttering? It's getting crazy.

Question

Ok. So first of all, my specs:

Lenovo Y410P:

-

Processor

4th Generation Intel Core i7-4700MQ Processor (2.40GHz 1600MHz 6MB)

-

Operating System

Windows 8.1 64

-

Display

14.0" HD Glare with integrated camera 1366x768

-

Graphics

NVIDIA GeForce GT755M GDDR5 2GB

-

Memory

8.0GB PC3-12800 DDR3L SDRAM 1600 MHz

-

Hard Drive

1TB 5400 RPM

So, Nvidia Optimizer sets everything to max for me, but I put shadows on super low and tun off grass.

I've also tried this

fMeshLODLevel2FadeTreeDistance=

fMeshLODLevel1FadeTreeDistance=

fMeshLODLevel2FadeDist=

fMeshLODLevel1FadeDist=

setting them all to 10000000.0000

I've also set uRenderSkinnedTrees=0

My FPS is usually around 59-60, but drops by like 4 around cell borders, and randomly when running.

I have 2K HD Landscape FULL, SMIM, HQ Towns and Villages and Distant Detail. The stutters were happening all before most of these mods. I've also downloaded the 64Hz fix, which fixed the stutter when looking up or down and indoors. But it didn't fix this type of stutter, and whenever I try to record it, when I play the video at the desktop, it looks fine! Any fixes for this?

P.S. All components are at normal clock.

Try to disable any Vsync you might have running first.

Failing that then try to reduce draw distances too see if its simply because you got too much stuff that requires rendering at any one point.

It most likely adds additional post processing effects, which put extra strain on your GPU... Try to figure out what it is... do you also have a lot of files called ENB ?

Or just something called sweetFX ?

You could also just try to remove it and see if you like how your game looks now, and how it runs.

Actually, the reason I asked is that you have an Nvidia/Intel chipset, so you have Optimus running. The reason you shouldn't have a d3d9.dll is that the hook causes Optimus to kick in and use the Intel graphics instead of the Nvidia GPU. That is why you have crappy performance. To use an injector you need to rename you d3d9.dll to d3d9orig.dll and then install the Optimus fix that you can get on the nexus. It allows you to use injectors with Optimus chipsets.

No ENB, but I do see a sweetFX, but it came WITH my laptop.... And my game runs at 59FPS except when loading a new area. I think it's using the NVIDIA GPU. But I'll try that fix when I get home. And what does sweetfx come with? Mod wise I mean.

I only use the mods I listed. Graphic wise. Gonna delete it and see what happens when I get home. My laptop does have optimus, but if it was switching to intel gpu when i run Skyrim? Wouldn't I get crap performance all the time? These stutters come randomly. Could it be it switches and switches back at times?

I don't know how it switches back and forth, or if it even does at all when using a dll hook. I had problems with my Nvidia GPU not being used when playing with SMAA injector. I installed the Optimus Fix and it worked so that Intel graphics wouldn't be used.

I think the Intel grphics can run things okay but can't handle areas with lots of NPCs or high res textures and polygons. That is probably why you get stuttering. Also, a laptop will get some amount of stutter when pushed hard. The motherboards just doesn't have the bandwidth to push data at the rate of a good gaming rig.

At first, at vanilla Skyrim, it would RARELY stutter, and when it does, it's 2 frame drop and lasts half a second. So yeah gonna download that optimus fix. And how can I check my motherboard? Lenovo made this for gaming....

I just meant that laptops don't have the physical ability to keep up with their desktop counterparts. I'm sure there is some system spec that lays out the maximum theoretical bandwidth, but being a portable platform will always hurt performance a bit compared to desktops because they have to sacrifice things to fit everything in a tiny space.

My brother has a Lenovo and I'd say it is good machine for gaming, I'm impressed at how well it cools itself. That thing could be on for a couple hours and not even get to 80C which is good for a laptop. My HP gets hot just playing Angry Birds.
