Dargox Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 I'm getting a laptop and the one I consider buying has a Nvidia gt 740m (2gt vram) It will most likely be the bottleneck of the system but will it be able to run a moderately modded Skyrim at low-medium settings at stable 30 fps? Other specs: -Intel core i7 4700MQ quad (2,4GHz, turbo 3,4GHz) -8gt ram -1 t hdd -8 gt sdd Also how much would I benefit from a gt 740 with 4gt vram?
0 phazer11 Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Doubtful, but possible. How much do you have to spend? It'd also help if you said where you were getting it and the model.
0 DanielCoffey Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 The 740M should be acceptably good at the native resolution. It isn't mentioned in the UESP Skyrim hardware Requirements but similar cards such as the 650M are.
0 EssArrBee Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 Yeah, I have a i5/650M 2gb combo and it works great at 1366x768. I even have an ENB with a few features turned down to give me good performance. Just remember to stick to mostly 1k textures, a few 2k textures won't hurt.
