MO 1.0.7 downloading mods twice from Nexus

Question

Posted

Since updating to the latest 1.0.7 RC8 I have noticed that clicking Download with Manager on the Nexus is causing MO to attempt to download every file twice. This, of course, gives errors when the duplicate download has finished and attempts to tidy up but finds the first download task has already done this

Is there anything I should do to preserve my load order but reset MO so that it just attempts to get files once?

Browser -  IE 11.0

OS - Win7-64

JC did anyone figure out what about IE 11 caused the problem or just not care?

Also I don't use IE but I'd rather use IE than Safari security wise, last I checked I wouldn't touch Safari with a 20 foot pole, IE with a 8-10 foot pole.

This is only 2 day old thread and if IE settings have no effect Tannin is probably going to have to "fix it" even though an IE bug. They may fix is many Bought programs are affected too.

@wolverine

Comodo have Ice Dragon a Firefox port it has a virtual browser, I believe it's a sandbox. There's a Chrome Dragon as well.

The Comodo Internet Suite (Free) definitely will run any program sandboxed. It does so by default for unknown software.

Thanks for the tip. I've used it in the past 4+ years ago and back then the AV was way to picky and I got a lot of false positives.

All AV's are to picky, for example I use a very Useful Tool

WSCC (Windows System Control Center)

Described on the Site as

WSCC is a free, portable program that allows you to install, update, execute and organize the utilities from various system utility suites. WSCC can install and update the supported utilities automatically. Alternatively, WSCC can use the http protocol to download and run the programs. WSCC is portable, installation is not required. Extract the content of the downloaded zip archive to any directory on your computer.

This edition of WSCC supports the following utility suites:

Windows Sysinternals Suite (including support for Sysinternals Live service)

    NirSoft Utilities

The setup packages are downloaded from the author's website!

Most have heard of SysInternals (Process Explorer etc)

Not as Many know Nirsoft another prolific tool maker of equally useful utilities.

This program downloads both packages in full or as few as you wish and updates all with one button click again fully selectable.

Also runs many of Windows System32 tools with built in Console for command prompt tools.

Administrative Tools and Windows Services access too all in one very useful package.

I recommend trying this, it's very useful, as those two suites are a pain to update without this.

Back on topic

AV always try to block Nirsoft Password Tools and others so using this it's easier to exempt what I install and I always set to learn system for a while. I totally exempt Storage HDD. With right security on browsr as well NoScript AdBlock, I only use On Access AV anyway and never had a true positive from any AV lots of tools are virus / malware only if I'm not using them. I usually am using, so it's working as I want.

Most folks dont know a virus can be just a archived EXE the AV can't scan and panic at phoney alarm.

Using Comodo it protects running system with Defense+ which as I said auto Sandboxes unknowns, annoying while learning the system as even with learn mode stuff isn't all used. A few days in learning gets most used programs.

I like free stuff that works well.

Daniel/others,

Had same issue.  just click on the gear icon in upper right corner of IE 11, add nexusmods to the compatibility view list.  Its that simple.  Sometimes IE forgets and you have to re-add it.

How to for IE 11 @ Win 8:

1) Open IE in Desktop mode, not Metro mode (right click on IE; Open in Desktop)

2) Gear icon should appear

3) Click on gear icon

4) Compatible setting

5) Type nexusmods.com

6) Press add button

I hope it will help some. Sorry for stating obvious.

Thx
