Having Two of the same mod (Like CBBE)

Question

Posted

So I wanted to install a version of CBBE that had nudity, and another version for let's plays that didn't have nudity, and toggle them as needed. However, on installing for the second time, the installer simply continued to install forever when I clicked on the Rename prompt.

Either the MO needs to fix this, CBBE's installer doesn't work (It already worked the first time though with no flaws), I'm not clicking the right button, or something else has happened. Any help on the matter would be appreciated.

Rename the mod when the first screen pops up instead of waiting until it asks to merge/replace/rename/cancel. Leave one with the vanilla name and another with "CBBE - Lets play" or whatever works for you. Better way to install two of something.

Okay, I decided to let it run for god knows how long. After what seemed like about a half hour, I gave up, restarted my pc, then tried again and it worked fine. Took longer than the first time, but it worked nonetheless. Maybe I had installed too many mods and filled up my cache or someshit, but it looks like it's fixed now.

Sorry for the trouble, I have them properly working now.

just speaking for personal experience here but sometimes it seems when i put MO through extended use it can kind of glitch or hang up on me. after all, it handles a LOT of data at once if you stop and think about it. usually restarting MO or restarting my PC fixes it on the odd rare occasion that it does this.

And you can ask Wolverine, I'm no hack when it comes to this kind of stuff :p so it's not exactly a user error type of thing, but more of a data handling type of thing, if this makes sense.

You know I've noticed this too. Though I think it has to do with a memory leak to be completely honest. I've noticed that the longer Mod Organizer is left open the more memory it uses which can sometimes be rather high.

Please have a look at the memory usage of MO with the task manager or (much) better with Process Hacker2. The last one shows you history graphs for things like memory/disk usage for a selected program. I haven't noticed any stability problems so far. Not in the past and not now. But then again when I test I tend to restart very often. Actually I can't remember when I played Skyrim for the last time ;-(

Iirc in the past with certain versions of MO there were memory leaks. Should it have regressed please create a ticket for it in MO's issue tracker.
