zodden Posted August 1, 2013 Share Posted August 1, 2013 I am installing Skyrim revisited but also following along with the legendary edition. I know that the legendary edition is not finished but I wanted to ask a question about some things that are included in Skyrim Revisited but not included in the Legendary edition. As I go along keeping both pages open in the browser I notice that some of the TES5edit corrections in Skyrim revisited are not ported to Legendary edition. For example: Unique region names on the Skyrim Revisited page has TES5edit changes that will take about 30 minutes to implement. (Says Warning:This mod does not carry forward changes from the various DLCs)Â In the Legendary page it does not even mention that it needs changes in TES5Edit. Does this mean that in the next edition those changes are no longer needed or does it mean that it just has not been added to the Legendary guide yet? My guess is that it just has not been added so when faced with this I always follow the revisited guide changes for any edits. Its just this one is extra tedious lol. Thanks. Link to comment

Now comes the hard part- adding non SR mods like Skyre, Interesting NPC's, Faalksar, Asis and Immersive settlements. I will do this part slowly and I backed up a full base SR install if I run into issues. The Skyre thread here is a godsend! Link to comment

Solist Posted August 1, 2013 Share Posted August 1, 2013 Yeah, can't express how important it is to just, for lack of a better word...ignore SR:LE right now and its progress. Until Neo has done a 2nd/3rd pass and it gets out of internal testing and opened to the group like we did for the pre-release thread, it's a giant work in progress and nowhere near fit for trying the install. For those that want to play or learn, do the SR install...you'll be that better educated on steps when SR:LE releases and you can move quicker through it. Until then...honestly, just enjoy playing Skyrim with however you have it setup. Take a few weeks to enjoy not having to replace mods or tweak stuff...absorb the game because once SR:LE comes out, it's going to be starting all over again. Personally I'm taking the opportunity to finally get a complete playthrough in and explore as much as I can before starting anew with SR:LE. Suffice to say, progress is moving along at a great pace and Neo's got some awesome stuff in store for you all in the next release. It's exciting seeing it come together so stay tuned, and enjoy Skyrim! Link to comment

Smile44 Posted August 6, 2013 Share Posted August 6, 2013 There are quite a lot of changes but it is working really well - but that said I'm using a hybrid version of both as the compatibility parts of the guide are not there yet, but patches from SR work fine it would seem and the optimizations from LE don't hurt either. It is looking very good so far. That said there are likely to be quite a few changes and additions before LE is done, as well as a few more optimisations. Looking forward to seeing how it continues to take shape. :) Link to comment

Smile44 Posted August 6, 2013 Share Posted August 6, 2013 Yes I am using ELFX and my install is pretty much identical to LE except where he has only brought stuff over from SR and has not looked at it yet. I have all the patches from SR within the relevant mods that need them e.g. AS-URN patch etc.. I have used the order in LE and all the optimisations but the patches from SR. I have also added a ton of mods on top including "sands of time" and ERSO - the game works really well. With the 0.200 patch for ENB running I have yet to go anywhere near 1.gb of Ram or above 2gb of vram. Doesn't stop the occasional random, outdoor ctd though. I think these are mainly script based or perhaps something to do with the temperature of the GPU - not sure yet. Then again I do have a seriously large amount of extra mods. Bottom line is in my testing before adding extra mods the SR:LE combination works really well no problems - explored countryside took out a dungeon I had never come across before, without a blip. So follow LE for order and mod list etc but SR for patches. That said with ELFX he does not include the enhancer .esp which is the one that causes incompatibilities. It may be that this plugin is needed and I have made a mistake - but then again it will need more testing. Infact if you were to just use SR then add all the optimisations from LE - you will have a very good and stable base from which to run skyrim. The key part is optimising the textures. What I will try and do is post my mod list and load order for this and my Requiem profile and you can then see what I have done. Incidentally I am using "Relighting Skyrim" in my Requiem install instead, I am still experimenting, very important IMO is to be careful of mods with scripts - check where they conflict and which ones you want to have priority. In some cases two mods may have the same script but work in different areas so changing the name can work (still looking into that, could be badly wrong) in that way the scripts may not conflict and you can have both.
