Textures go from sharp to blurry and vice versa.

Hi there. I've reinstalled Skyrim and I now have run into a weird problem.

 

If there is a light source nearby (like a fire brazier) as I move my camera, the image goes from sharp to blurry and back.

I've included screenshots. The effect is not super extra visible but definitely jarring while playing.

 

It's not a Skyrim Prefs settings since I tried with both a generic new ini and my usual customized one.

It's not a fire/smoke texture issue since I uninstalled all fire/smoke textures and the issues persisted.

It's not an ENB or visual mod setting because the issues was there without ENB and with or without RCRN or COT.

 

I'm at a loss...

Someone help this poor OCD player who spends more time fixing the graphics of Skyrim than actually playing it.

Well could you post your ini files so we could be the judge of that please. If you don't we won't be able to tell you. At the VERY least you should make sure that your anisotropic filtering is on and try adding bDoDepthOfField=0 to your SkyrimPrefs.ini

 

Also those screenshots are tiny is that your normal resolution or did you crop them? Also I'm not really seeing the torch you're talking about.

The torch is to the left of my character. Basically it seems like it's an effect that happens from some sort of glare from bigger lights like breziers.

I cropped the images to focus on the change in texture.Here is my Prefs ini:

I should mention that I have been playing with these settings for over a month now with COT and Project ENB and never noticed this texture thing.

I only noticed it now after I uninstalled all mods, COT and Project ENB.

I do have Skyrim HD and Static Mesh Improvement Mod installed atm but I doubt that's the cause.

Ok lol I thought I had turned off DepthofField when I took those last two screenshots.

 

I did as you said and turned it off (made it 0) and now the issue is gone. Thank you!

Only thing that can make textures blurry is DoF, and or some weird mipmaping gone wrong.

First would be because of mods like dynavision or ENB, the latter due to bad optimizations.
