Not initializing, No MCM, can not find DynDOLOD.esm, DynDOLOD.esp or Occlusion.esp

Question

Posted

DynDOLOD NG plugin version: 3.0.13.0 | SKSE version: 2.0.20.0 | Game version: 1-5-97-0
DynDOLOD save/load handler installed.
DynDOLOD Papyrus functions installed.
Default Trampoline => 0B / 28B (00.00%)
Trampoline initialized.
Default Trampoline => 14B / 28B (50.00%)
Default Trampoline => 28B / 28B (100.00%)
DynDOLOD Patch installed.
DynDOLOD Cell Events installed.
DynDOLOD Menu Events installed.
DynDOLOD Player Events installed.
Reading file Data/SKSE/Plugins/DynDOLOD_Data/DynDOLOD_NG_Worlds.txt
can not get version from dyndolod.esm
dyndolod.esm not found
dyndolod.esp not found

I don’t know which version the DynDOLOD initialization will not be displayed at the beginning, and the mcm menu will not be displayed. However, the DynDOLOD effect is normal, and the dynamic lod in the distance is normal.

The plugins Treescale.esm and Requiem - Sacrosanct Patch.esp are of and invalid version, which gets get carried forward into the plugins DynDOLOD creates, e.g. DynDOLOD.esm, DynDOLOD.esp, Occlusion.esp.

Use xEdit to change the version in the header of all these plugins to 1.71

That fixed it, thank you!

When I start the game, a message appears as per the title.

Reading the Log, it seems that this message appears immediately after loading DynDOLOD_NG_Worlds.txt.

This txt file has

plugin=DynDOLOD.esm

Although it is clearly written, it seems that it is not recognized.

Is it okay to ignore this message?

Moved to a thread that most likely matches the problem. See answers above. See https://dyndolod.info/Official-DynDOLOD-Support-Forum#Use-Search

Read https://dyndolod.info/Official-DynDOLOD-Support-Forum#Post-Logs which DynDOLOD log and debug log to upload when making posts.
Upload the mentioned DynDOLOD.log as well.

An error message shows because there is an error that causes things to not work as expected. Fixing the cause of the error will make things works as intended and then there won't be an error message anymore.

For things to work properly, the DynDOLOD plugins need to be loaded by the game.

I recently downloaded the newest version of DynDOLOD (Alpha-189). Ran it and everything seemed to work perfectly (based on my loaded mods). Unfortunately, as soon as I load a character save (or start a new character), even before the save/racemenu finishes loading, the following message appears in a message box: DynDOLOD.esp not found or too high in load order. According to Vortex, Dyndolod.esm is at load order 78, DynDOLOD.esp is at load order 84, and occlusion.esp is at load order 475. I also note that DynDOLOD MCM is reporting that DynDOLOD is not running. I have tried rearranging the load order in several different directions to no avail. And there have been no errors reported at all.

One very confused user.

Moved to an appropriate thread. See posts above. See https://dyndolod.info/Official-DynDOLOD-Support-Forum#Use-Search

Read https://dyndolod.info/Official-DynDOLOD-Support-Forum#Post-Logs which DynDOLOD log and debug log and which DynDOLOD DLL log to upload when making posts.

The message gives 2 reasons. You seem to focus only on one reason.
It seems more likely the game did not load DynDOLOD.esp at all.

Does it appear in your MO Plugins in the right pane? Is it active? Is the mod active in the MO left pane?

The title said DynDOLOD can not find DynDOLOD.esm, while in the post it says Skyrim is giving that message, so which is it?

Heya.

I have the feeling, dyndolod just works as it should, but when following the step guide, at the end, to test for a new character, i get the message ingame as following:

image.thumb.jpeg.e301876cb73bf71d452f3d1a5ea60bc4.jpeg

As you can see in the distance, i do have the feeling dyndolod still is working, at least to some degree, but im not sure.

I do have some log files as well, but there are some caveats to it.

First of all, no log files are created in the normal dyndolod folder after exiting the game. No big deal here, as there were logs created when i ran dyndolod couple of days ago.

Secondly, my dyndolod debug log is around 300mb, but that one was created when genereted dyndolod itself.

But here is my entire log file as a rar file:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/jhfplach89lcuxc/Logs.rar/file

Thirdly, i do have a log file in my documents\my games, called dyndolod, so i will post that here:

DynDOLOD NG plugin version: 3.0.34.0 | SKSE version: 2.2.6.0 | Game version: 1-6-1170-0
Trampoline initialized.
DynDOLOD Patch installed.
DynDOLOD save/load handler installed.
DynDOLOD Papyrus functions installed.
Reading file Data/SKSE/Plugins/DynDOLOD_Data/DynDOLOD_NG_Worlds.txt
can not find dyndolod.esm

The thing is, dyndolod.esm is checked in my load order, but when sorted with LOOT, it sits at position 224.

Dyndolod.esp and occlusion.esp i have moved towards the bottom of my load order, but dyndolod.esm isnt moved.

So especially @sheson, any idea what is wrong here?

Thanks in advance for helping me out.

Cheers, Mara

quick little edit: Ofcourse both my dyndolod esm, esp and occlusion esp are in the step skyrim - dyndolod output mod. So there i didnt made a mistake as well.

Also enable and upload the Papyrus logs. See https://dyndolod.info/Official-DynDOLOD-Support-Forum#Post-Logs

DynDOLOD.esm should be the last ESM flagged plugin in the load order. That should put it right after 0x28 Schlongs of Skyrim - Core.esm. The game won't load it any higher and automatically force to load all non ESM after it.

Typically the message means the game did not load the plugin.
Make sure MO2 and the game use the same data folder.
Since the reported game version is 1.6.1770, make sure that BEES is not installed.
Another reason for the game not loading plugins could be outdated SSE EngineFixes.

Before I'm gonna upload my papyrus logs...

I saw that in mo2, dyndolod.esm was not underneath the last esm. So i moved it up manually. Loot afterwards made no changes, so i assume it's safe to manually dragging the dyndolod.esm to be underneath the last esm directly?

little edit:

ofc i dont have BEES installed and obviously i have the latest version of sse engine fixes :)

Another edit: After have placing dyndolod.esm at the correct spot, the error no longer appears in my game for some reason.

Didnt expected it, but it works now, at least with my test character :)

Yes, manually dragging plugins to control their correct position is "safe".
