Infinite loading screen when fast travelling from Solstheim to Skyrim

Question

Posted

Hi,

after installing all of the STEP mods and travelling to Solstheim I can't get back to Skyrim. The loading screen just loops and loops (I stopped after 15 minutes) and nothing happens.

Do you know if there is any known issue which could cause my problem?

Thanks very, very much!!!

Intel i5-3450 @ 3,1 GHz
HIS Radeon HD 7850 IceQ X Turbo 2GB @ 1000 - 1200 MHz

Additional mods: Project Parallax, ENB, Darker Dungeons for ENB, ENB particle patch, Skyrim Project Optimization

There are all sorts of issues with cell changing in solstheim (e.g. Raven Rock Mine) Just try to do something else for a while like raiding a dungeon, go to sleep and try fast travelling again.

Is Raven Rock Mine the mine where I get the dungeon where the old man tells me to explore a mine for him? If yes, then I actually had the infinite loading screen bug there. I searched on the internet and followed Arthmoor's advice to remove/change some values in the ini-files concerning Z-fighting (this is where he mentioned it, look it up under Known Issues: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=7320), which solved the problem in this case.

If you think doing something else will fix it, I'll try. ;)

Thanks very much!

Well yeah, that dungeon is pretty big and MAYBE (nobody knows for sure) the z-fighting tweak causes the engine to load a lot more higher res LOD meshes which might cause infinite loading screens, but I can tell you, that I've only had it in this one single mine. I don't think it's worth the hassle to look a disco-flashing mountains 99,9999999999% of the time so that in 0,0000000001% you don't have an infinite loading screen.

Well, I never had problems with Z-fighting, so that's nothing I really need.

But I still can't go to Skyrim, although I were in some dungeons and stuff, which makes me a bit nervous because I'm nearly exceeding my carrying capacity. :(

You can sell in ravenrock... :D

or do some quests for the mayor and get a house in raven rock for free ;-)

Well, since most of the merchants decided to work on the green stone in my game - nope. :D

Good idea, the thingie with the house. Glad I can get one.

This is actually a problem with the vanilla game so adding a bunch of mods with only make it worse. It took me about 10 fresh installs and removing a bunch of mods to finally get inside of Raven Rock Mine.

that's right. i lowered mine as described in the other thread. probably could restore them to default values to narrow the source of the infinite loading screens down.

reduce it to 300000 or something. all i did was trail and error. standard value is 150000 i think. does it solve the infinite loading screen?
