Where To Install Wrye Bash & NMM?

Question

Posted

I'm reinstalling skyrim once again and I'm trying to figure out how to optimize my mod managers. I use NMM to check for updates from nexus (so basically just to read and create FOmods) and Wrye for everything else. Where would be a good location to install wrye's directory as well as NMM?

I previously had it in C:/Games/Skyrim Mods/Bash Installer and directed NMM to that as well but NMM decided to create folders in there which was irritating. Is there a more efficient manner of connecting the two? Thanks for your time.

I don't think either is meant to "talk" to the other, they're pretty much independent.  I'm not sure about NMM, but I installed WB in my Skyrim folder (along with all the other utilities).  That way everything's in one place.

So how do you keep up to date with your mods? Do you just track them all?

Yup.  It's a hassle to set up initially but I'm checking the STEP thread on the Nexus often enough that it's not a huge deal.

Yea seems tedious but I might just do it to not have to deal with NMM. Oh and when it comes to renaming wrye bash mods. Can I rename the numbers at the end? like xxxx255 to SkyUI.7z

If you rename the numbers at the end then you won't be able to right click on the mod and use the Open At option. This allows you to open the mods nexus page since those number directly relate to the mod's page.
