thorgal Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 (edited) Its finally here : for those in the dark : The Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE) is a tool used by many Skyrim mods that expands scripting capabilities and adds additional functionality to the game. . Basically it is the essential cornerstone to allow most of the amazing Mods On Skyrim to actually work . SKSE64 was the version that was in Development for Skyrim :Special Edition but got put on hold until further notice due to lack of time , required skills and motivation . For a time things seemed like it would stay stuck in Development hell forever.... Until now ! Now before Everyone jumps of their seat and gets too excited ?THEY MADE THIS VERY CLEAR : Here is an alpha version of SKSE64. It is currently not intended for use by most users. It will be primarily interesting for mod authors and people who want to test things. even so this is a Major Step in modding Skyrim :SE to hell and back . Edited September 13, 2017 by thorgal 1
SIMONTOYOU Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 (edited) I quit modding my Skyrim last year because SKSE64 felt like a pipe dream. I began modding my game again a few days ago because I could no longer stand the wait. And now SKSE64 could be out this year? Edited September 15, 2017 by SIMONTOYOU
CovertSlinky Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 Yes hats off to the skse team, this a great milestone on a road with probably MANY milestones.
Yippee38 Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 Yeah. This is damn exciting. I'm really hoping for a SR:LE 64. SR:LE works okay for me, but more performance would be better. From what I've read, the 64-bit version is way more stable. I also stopped playing a while back. The game is mostly very stable, but it still crashes occasionally, and the performance on triple-screens could be better.

Vortex + SKSE full release will go a long way in restriking interest. :)
Zapp1980 Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 I know that SKSE64 now is not intended for average modders like me but I would like to know how it is working at the moment. Are there well known issues at the moment or just not enough testing time. I'm wondering if I just install skse64 instead of the achievementsenabler-dll What are the pro's and Contra's for the average modder atm??

mavanaic Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 The latest SKSE (v2.0.5) has been made obsolete with the latest Skyrim SE update.I get this annoying pop-up.It's safe to revert to the previous version..skse and ssefixes work with the 2.0.5 (runtime 1.5.16)
Spankahontis Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 I can't seem to find the right Runtime make, I've rolled back SKSE to 2.0.4 but i'm still getting the pop up, only now with 2.0.4 in the pop up/
SSGCull Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 I can't seem to find the right Runtime make, I've rolled back SKSE to 2.0.4 but i'm still getting the pop up, only now with 2.0.4 in the pop up/Rollback SSE not SKSE. Did you actually read what the pop up said?
