Question

Posted

So I recently switched my mod organizer for Skyrim from nexus mod manager and whenever i install a texture mod without an esp (like noble skyrim and others) so ive been unable to max out the visuals and am stuck with vanilla textures... I also think that it might be affecting other mods that dont have esps like crash fixes 12 and others...

Can anyone help me?

Is the mod checked on the left pane?

Yes all of the mods I want to use are checked

Did you also clean the Skyrim\Data folder of anything other than the vanilla mods?

Yes I am using a completely clean skyrim game aside from what i have installed with MO.

The title of your thread refers to mods not being installed but the posts actually describe problems you have changing settings... so which is it?

sorry just realized what you guys meant what i meant when i said "so ive been unable to max out the visuals and am stuck with vanilla textures" is that due to the fact that i cant install texture mods im stuck with the vanilla textures and cannot upgrade above them... sorry for the confusion everyone in my head it was a lot more clear

I would suspect you may not have installed the mods correctly. If you right click on the mod in the left pane and select "information", then go to filetree tab, what do you see? You SHOULD see at the very least a folder that says 'Textures'. Possibly a 'Meshes' too and maybe some other things.

If you don't, then you've done something wrong in install.

Are you running the game via MO or are you still using the default Skyrim shortcut on the desktop, or even from Steam?

The modded game MUST be called from MO as the mods are dynamically loaded on runtime.

Without some evidence to support your view, I'd have to say your conclusions are in error.

It is impossible to install and activate a texture mod and it not show up in game. Checking the "Data" tab in MO will show you which textures are overwriting the default textures, and these are the ones used in game.
