Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

Recommended Posts

When you rerun AV do you have to restore all the mods AV incorporates to their pristine state or can you just rerun AV given what you have after the last time you ran it.  If that makes any sense...

Just run the patch again after each time you make changes to your load order. I do not know if it is strictly required, but it is written in the AV readme that it is a good idea.

You should only need to just run the .jar file again.. press patch and then it should take care of the rest and create an updated .esp for you with all the required information in it. I will find out tomorrow for sure if it is necessary to reinstall it from scratch after you make changes to your load order or if it is enough to just run the patch again!

Speaking of AV then I got wolves and everything else again! Properly because of doing the DDSopt wrong that some of the textures where no longer properly read by AV...

Also I got a few of my persistent crashes back! Weee so now I know it is working again hehe!

The .esps for TroubleMakers Clothing and TroubleMakers Forsworn Armor are not in BOSS. I assume you did not mention them because you do not use the craft-able options. I used BOSS to put them at the top of ITEMS LOAD LATE as most crafting .esps seem to be in the items categories.

I'm not getting any warnings from BOSS...and in the load order tab all the masters are there...Its just for a few of the mods the order of the masters seems a bit off (ie Dragonborn.esm before dawngard.esm listed as masters for the .esp) but in the load order they are listed dawngard and then dragonborn...I've seen this before occassionally but I don't recall it being an issue.

If I now install MO after I have already installed the whole skyrim revisited setup thru wrye bash, will that screw things up?

Hi Jasonstory44,

Hopefully you have resolved this :)

If not, what I find works for me is to simply run TES5Edit, select all the ESP's and let it run. It will show you exactly where it is causing the CTD on loadup... alot easier imo then searching through all your mods.

Ofc, if you switch to MO, you will need to run this via MO as well, as per Neo's instructions

Gopher made a great video showing how to do this if unsure:

Hope this helps mate

@Neo - just a heads up the BOSS Masterlist now includes the BetterQuestObjectives .esp's, so the only one that needs to be in your Wiki now is the patch for BSaQBPatch.

Thanks will update.

Yeah I'm not using them myself. In this case the main file is really the optional... lol.

When I run the Creation Kit for Live Another Life it seems to crash (lock up and a windows notice that the program has stopped responding) when I exit. It seems to save the files OK and Live Another Life seems to run OK but this doesn't seem like it should work this way. Creation Kit will close fine otherwise when running in MO or if launched form the steam icon in the task bar. Has anyone else had this happen?

When I run Wrye Bash (3.03), the bash patch (or anything else) does not show up in Overwrites. I suspect I might not have the bash.ini set up correctly. What values do you use for these settings when running Wrye through MO?

;sOblivionMods=..\Skyrim Mods

;sBashModData=..\Skyrim Mods\Bash Mod Data

;sInstallersData=..\Skyrim Mods\Bash Installers\Bash

;sOblivionPath=G:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim

EDIT- tinkered around a bit more, reinstalled Wrye, deleted the Bashed Patch in Skyrim Data (Wrye seemed to generate a new one when I opened it in MO again), rewrote the Bash.ini and it seems to work now. But I am utterly clueless why as I don't think I changed anything (that matters). Just another mystery...

Hi guys....I'm going through my fourth complete fresh install of Skyrim revisited. This time using MO for first time (what a great tool btw). Due to my 3 previous fails (CTD at startup screen) I have been periodically starting up skyrim as I go along just to ensure it will run before I keep pushing forward. Seemed to be starting up fine with installation upto the bricks. Now half way thru the bricks (at Moss Rocks) and tried starting it up and CTD at splash screen. BTW I already have acquisitive soul gems installed.

Would you expect skyrim to start up for me at this point Neovalen? Or am I crashing because I don't have everything installed yet? I'm just trying to trouble shoot things at this point before I put 5 more hours in and see my head explode when it won't start. Thanks guys. And thanks for the MO suggestion, what a wonderful tool

Load MO and then load Wyre Bash after doing a Boss sort.  There is an option in Wrye Bash to check for errors and in particular missing masters.  Ctd at startup is almost always missing masters.  Oh and rebuild a bashed patch.

Its usually acquisitive gems and the other mod that relies on it but it could be av or fnis or a bunch of others.

alternatively check the data tab to see what's being overwritten. SKSE is probably ok if it loads fine before enabling the bricks section.

It is possible that you might have to redownload a package somewhere in the bricks section. An error in one of those packages can of course cause a full ctd.

Also in case you have not found out by now. The list of installed mods to the left in MO is placement sensitive... it must be in the order specified in the guide or you might overwrite something you do no intend to overwrite, which can also cause a few headaches!

Also when you say start the game... always try to start a new game and go up to char generation at least before quitting so you also see if the script based mods are working, and you will also be able to see if you got weird textures meshes etc (Like if you do not have any hands in 1st person after you installed body re-placers!). It will save you a lot of time later even though that horse ride is getting a bit boring after you have seen it for the 100th time... but the helgen intro is very good for testing performance as well too see if your computer can handle all the textures etc.
