Patchus Maximus is missing all official .esms

Question

Posted (edited)

when i try to run pathcus maximus i get the error "skyproc.exceptions.missingmaster: update.esm has some missing masters: skyrim.esm" but this applies to all offical esms. I have tried using the unofficial patches and USLEEP but neither of them solve my problem. (not using @ the same time). i have sorted my load order with LOOT. So I have ran asis and dual sheath redux patcher without a problem. So this problem is directly related to patchus maximus. Apparently this was a common problem before and i have tried all previous fixes to no avail.

I am also using NMM.

It's not some strange issue with bsa files and not having them in the correct place?

(That's a complete guess BTW, I have no idea either.)

Have you asked on the actual Perkus Maximus page? Raulfin's usually pretty good at solving issues there.

ya i have on the nexus mod page, but still know one seems to know the problem. The bsa files are in the data folder.

You have stated that you have tried many different methods already, I'm assuming these are the methods you tried:

psa_if_you_are_having_issues_with_the_latest_uskp

dual-sheath-redux-patch-fails/

unofficial-patches-211-needed/

That being the case I'm not sure if any of us here can offer anything much more. Sorry.

ya i looked at those fixes, but they seem to apply to my situation

my bad, i meant to say those fixes don't apply to my situation. i cant seem to find the edit button.

So after a long while i found a fix. In your skyrim data folder, you must remove the usleep patch.ini and if you have it, the alternate start live another life.ini     then you can use patchus maximus. After the patching is complete you can move the 2 ini files back into the  data folder. This fixed my issue and im not sure if it will fix all other issues.

Since STEP recommends and uses MO this will never be an issue as nothing is ever placed into the actual Data folder.

TBH I'm not 100% sure why moving those files would have any impact on how that patcher runs, or doesn't. It may just be coincidental that moving them allowed you to proceed. At any rate at least you can now play the game.
