Zeifyl Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 (edited) The issue is with hardware, not with mods Edited June 9, 2016 by Zeifyl
0 rootsrat Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 It should handle it easily. I have a very similar specs - slightly better CPU and less RAM and I never had any problems. Saying that, I didn't play Skyrim for ages, but I'm close to finishing the STEP Extended installation, so I'll report back if I have similar problems.
0 Thallassa Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Firstly, 80 C isn't really an issue with modern hardware :PSecondly, sounds like an issue with the cooling setup of your computer, not an issue with the modlist. Mods certainly will increase the demand of Skyrim on your hardware, which will in turn increase their power consumption and therefore heat output, but your computer should be able to handle STEP with ease, so my guess is that the issue is not so much "too many mods" but more of "I've got too much dust blocking the air intakes on the case" or something like that ;)

There's something wrong with my hardware, since the same thing happened with HL2.
0 Nebulous112 Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 It would be great if you could edit your post back to what it said (or at least the title, because we kinda get the gist from Thallassa's comment). This way, if anyone else runs into this in the future, they might find the answer through Google or searching the forum. And STEP locks threads if requested, but never deletes them (usually).

I will change it if I can remember it later on.But for now, I will keep your advice in mind. Also, the issue turned out to be that someone had forgotten to reconnect the cooler with the GPU after the cooling paste had been applied.
