MO cannot login to Nexus and blurry LOOT/Dual Sheath Redux Interfaces

DiaborMagics

Question

Hello everyone, I hope I can get some help here...

You see, I've been happily using MO for way over a year now. Suddenly, I have a few problems. A few weeks ago, I started getting blurry LOOT and Dual Sheath Redux Patcher interfaces. I'll attach a file to show off LOOT. Reinstalling LOOT does not work and as it's with both those tools, I think it has to be an issue with MO - while all other tools, Like Tes5Edit, Wrye Bash and other patchers are totally fine.

Also, since a few days. 2 or 3 days I think, I have been unable to login to Nexus through MO. While I can still login through browsers Google Chrome and FireFox. I linked FireFox to MO and use that as my standard browser, too, to avoid problems with Chrome in the first place.  It started when I was creating a new mod profile, adding mods etc. Suddenly something happened. I don't remember if MO crashed and I had to reboot, or that the screen flashed me an error and that was all. All I know is that I wasn't logged in anymore and eversince then I have been unable to login. It keeps telling me this: "request to nexus failed: socket operation timed out". And I cannot query info, look for updates, or download with manager anymore. I need to download everything manually and in my title bar "(not logged in)" stays there the whole time.

My login info is correct and MO is set to automatically login to Nexus, but when I start MO, it sits there for a while, only to tell me a little later that logging in failed and it asks me if I want to try again. Yes and no both do not work.

At first I thought it may have been some kind of server error. But it's persisting and I don't really see anyone with these issues at present. So... what's going on and how can I fix it?

Thanks!

Make a backup of your MO folder (package a .rar archive for example). Then delete everything in your MO folder, with the exception of the "downloads", "mods" and "profiles" folders. Install MO 1.3.11 fresh into a new & seperate folder, once that is done, copy the three remaining folders from your current install over to the new installation of MO.

Additionally, I recrently found out, that MO has problems logging into your account, if your Nexus password contains a

+

If that's the case, I would suggest to change your Nexus password, so that it doesn't contain a "+", and then also to change it within MO (for auto-login).

Alright, thanks for the reply! I'm going to try doing all that. Hopefully that will indeed solve everything. I need to make a full system backup anyway so this is a good excuse ;)

I've seen a lot but nothing like the blur on that screenshot.

Well after reinstalling, I still couldn't login. I then went to my virusscanner (cant believe I didnt do so earlier) and I checked the firewall. MO was set to deny for some reason. Changed that, login succeeded.

I still need to test LOOT and Dual Sheath's executables and some playtesting. I just want to be sure nothing is broken before I mark this as Solved.

The interfaces of the 2 mentioned programs are still blurred. Logging in works fine though and MO actually starts up a lot faster now than before. Previously it could take about 10 seconds, now it's almost instantaneous.

Does anyone else have ideas about how to fix the blurr???
