Core working, but having trouble with further mods.
Zerotix replied to Zerotix's question in General Skyrim LE Support
So I did some digging on that specific subject and it all led me to the Safety Load Fix script for SKSE and that took care of everything. Thank you for pointing this out. I now think the game is running better than ever, and I'll probably look into an ENB preset as the final touch. I know there are a lot of specific instructions in the STEP guide around ENBoost and mod specific to ENB presets, but I want to make my game feel more cinematic, and at the moment everything is very clear, including the 1k textures I have going on hah Thank you again for the information. This is all way beyond me, and I applaud your patience for knowing this stuff, and also for fixing my tags, I keep forgetting about that -
Core working, but having trouble with further mods.
Zerotix posted a question in General Skyrim LE Support
My STEP Core is working so I have that profile done within MO. Decided to copy/paste the profile and add the mods I wanted, so I checked the Packs page and found the MIME guide. I thought to myself "well.... that sucks, I wish I just followed this guide instead." However, there are only a select few mods I want to work with my game. So far the mods work, but when I try to add Moonpath to Elswyr, Immersive Armors, or Interesting NPCs, my game takes over 10 minutes to start a new game, then crashes. Then, for some reason, when I untick those mods, rebuild the bashed patch, and load up the game, the same thing happens until I untick Immersive Orc Strongholds and load up the game. I tried installing them one by one. I tried looking for conflicting mods, such as Weapons and Armor Fixes Remade, or the aMiridian mods, but I don't know exactly what to look for, and I've been at this for days now lol. At this point, I just want to start playing the game. I really want these few mods to work, so I'm willing to go back and try again from the STEP Core Skyrim :) enblocal.ini Skyrim.ini SkyrimPrefs.ini -

GUIDE Went through the guide, hit a brick wall.
Zerotix replied to Zerotix's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I guess when I said everything I was thinking of the vanilla game files. I like MO's system of handling how the mods affect the game. The only real reason I'd want to use multiple profile is if I'm testing out extra mods. My intention is to get the extra mods I want for the vanilla game, play said game, then play through the DLC (which I missed out on when the game came out) and several quest mods (Falskaar $ Wyrmtooth). My system should be able to handle everything maxed out, but honestly I just want to game to be stable with no microstutter. It frustrates me that I'm still getting microstutter, but then again, my AC is broken and it's 80 degrees in here. I'm hoping that's the only issue... There is one glitch I've noticed. Every time I run over anything dead, I seem to glide over it at soundbreaking speed. It's not an issue now, honestly it's quite entertaining, but I can imagine this being a problem in tight spaces. I'm assuming this has to do with the Paralyze mod, but I'm not sure. I only have Core mods, so no realistic ragdolls here. Maybe that's why?- 32 replies

GUIDE Went through the guide, hit a brick wall.
Zerotix replied to Zerotix's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Ah, so MO literally preserves everything hah. This is so cool. I'm about to finish the CORE guide, just have the patches left. Can't wait to have a nice, stable Skyrim. As far as the Dynamic Distant Objects LOD goes: I know some mods require compatibility patches in order to run, but will I have to redo this after installing further mods? Or any of the patches for that matter?- 32 replies

GUIDE Went through the guide, hit a brick wall.
Zerotix replied to Zerotix's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I love editing, so a checklist page would be of great use to people like me. This installation is going much better than the first, but I'm still unsure about additional mods. I'm assuming theres a way to freeze MO after Skyrim is stable to be able to revert? That'd be cool. And you beat me to it, a MCM section is what I was going to suggest next, though I'm sure I'm wayyyyyyyy behind. Don't worry though, I'll be the fattest guina pig. EDIT: You could remove the detailed instructions link altogether, redundant at this point :)- 32 replies

GUIDE Went through the guide, hit a brick wall.
Zerotix replied to Zerotix's question in General Skyrim LE Support
https://wiki.step-project.com/Wiseman303s_Trap_Fixes#Recommendations The notice on this page tells me not to merge this mod during the bashed patch, but the bashed patch detailed instructions don't mention it. I've been trying to keep up with the pages that require further instructions, but is this the only mod I need to be on the lookout for? And how do I exclude this mod? EDIT: I feel like there should be a section between 2.N and 2.M titled "Double Check" that lists links to all of the detailed instructions for the mods that require changes AFTER they are installed. It wouldn't be that big of a section either, as there's only a few.- 32 replies

GUIDE Went through the guide, hit a brick wall.
Zerotix replied to Zerotix's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Oh hey, my previous question went unanswered. STEP DLC Optimized Textures and STEP Vanilla Optimized Textures in the STEP Guide 2.D. Fixes has "Simply download and install one of the Optional Files and then check the archive in the Archives tab." Does this mean I can untick said plugins? The only reason I ask is in the right pane, they are both the only ESPs that have the duster icon next to them.- 32 replies

GUIDE Went through the guide, hit a brick wall.
Zerotix replied to Zerotix's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Thanks for the responses guys. I've decided to go ahead and trim the fat from the installation, so I'm sticking to the core guide and then working in the STEP packs later. I don't know if the mods I want are covered, but I know the forum will have more answers. I'll post again if I run into any more walls lol- 32 replies

GUIDE Went through the guide, hit a brick wall.
Zerotix replied to Zerotix's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Ah, yes, but my question was about that specifically. Nowhere does it say on that page to move anything, it just says to clean with TES5Edit. Even the specific cleaning instructions have nothing about moving files, but the beginning of the guide had me move files in order to clean. See where I'm coming from?- 32 replies

GUIDE Went through the guide, hit a brick wall.
Zerotix replied to Zerotix's question in General Skyrim LE Support
https://wiki.step-project.com/Skyrim_Flora_Overhaul#Recommendations This page says TES5Edit cleaning required. Do I have to follow the same steps as the Update, Dawguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn esps (ie copy the esp, then clean, then move back and create mod from Overwrite)? If not, I'll follow as instructed and simply clean the esp, no harm no foul.- 32 replies

GUIDE Went through the guide, hit a brick wall.
Zerotix replied to Zerotix's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Alright, I will be going through the extended guide once more. Ever diligent. EDIT: For the STEP Core Guide 2.D. Fixes the STEP Optimized Vanilla Textures it says "Simply download and install one of the Optional Files and then check the archive in the Archives tab." Does this mean the two plugins it comes with are also dummy plugins?- 32 replies

GUIDE Went through the guide, hit a brick wall.
Zerotix replied to Zerotix's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Okay I'm off today and dedicating the time to go through the guide again. I've just installed Skyrim and ran the launcher to set the files. I'm about to run the game and go through the beginning just to make sure the files are ready to mod. Once I'm done there, I will set MO up with a new profile and Back-date the BSAs. Since the mods are already downloaded I just have to reinstall them in order according to the guide correct? And go through the detailed instructions just like last time? I guess my question here I dont have to redownload anything right? Also, Expanded TaC, Wyrmtooth, Falskaar, and Immersive Armors & Weapons are the only other mods I can think of that I'd want to include. Should I go ahead and install these mods first to get them out of the way to make sure all patches and fixes work? Or should I hold off and wait until the end of the guide to go back and install these later, following the instructions in the forums for installing mods on top of STEP? I apologize for the questions. The more answers I get, the more I learn, the less I need to ask, and I'd really like to learn at least a little here :)- 32 replies

Will all of the downloaded mod archives be intact when I go to reinstall Skyrim? Do I have to reinstall mod manager and other tools, or just create a new profile in MO?- 32 replies

GUIDE Went through the guide, hit a brick wall.
Zerotix replied to Zerotix's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Yeah like I said I'm not sure how I missed the double esps. It explains the duplicate NPCs but it still worked with immersive citizen overhaul, it only crashed when I finished the step guide and created a bashed patch. I'll have to go through the process again and be on the lookout for it this time. Brings up more questions but I think I can find those answers somewhere in the forum. My only questions now is should I try the extended guide and add the mods throughout or should I just do the core guide and add mods later?- 32 replies

GUIDE Went through the guide, hit a brick wall.
Zerotix replied to Zerotix's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I'm not sure. As far as I can remember it was a single installer and it had optional patches that I applied for Falskaar and Wytmtooth. The silver lining I'm beginning to see is that I have the mods downloaded already, so I suppose if I decide to scrap everything I'll at least be ready to install everything again. The only thing that changed was that TES5Edit updated to 3.1.3 and I'll have to check each mod again in case they did too.- 32 replies

GUIDE Went through the guide, hit a brick wall.
Zerotix posted a question in General Skyrim LE Support
https://wiki.step-project.com/User:Zerotix/SystemSpecs Hello all! This is my first post, and I'm ashamed to say that I'm using it as a cry for help. I've been a part of the nexus website since 2006/2007 and have been a modaholic since Oblivion. Back in 2011 when Skyrim was released, I built a machine to be able to play the game. Fast forward years later, and I do the same thing for FO4. Well, I wanted to come back to Skyrim after being disappointed. So here I am. I've followed the STEP guide as best as I could, carefully going through the tedious effort of installing each mod as instructed and each tool used accordingly (MO, TES5Edit, WyreBash, etc). I'd love to say I learned a lot over the past week following this guide, carefully scrolling down every few lines each day after work, but I feel like I've learned absolutely nothing. I successfully backtraced my steps along the way to avoid problems, but since doing the bashed patch, I feel like every move I make means something is going to go wrong. Wyre Bash has a few red flags, and now LOOT is giving me my first error ([0419/232651:ERROR:main_delegate.cc(730)] Could not load cef_extensions.pak). I'd love to get some expert help on the process here. I want to fix the game without having to restart the entire process :( At this moment, I am unable to launch the game. I get into the game, and it's able to load, but once I select new game and wait for the neverending load screen (with nice new lore friendly messages), the game immediately shuts down. Also, since installing the mods, the NPCs have doubled for some reason. Every NPC in every town I visited seemed to have had a clone near by. LOOT Order Attached are the ini files.
