I installed this mod in Mod Organizer, and then created the ini file to manage it within the mod folder under SKS/Plugins. Problem is, every time I start Skyrim and close it, the Overwrite folder has a copy of that ini file, in that folder. I've dragged it into the Fuz Ro D'oh mod file over and over, but it keeps happening. Anyone had this issue? Also, if I correct the config issue, would I be correct that I needn't run LOOT and regenerate all the STEP patches that need refreshing when load order changes - simply because my mods installed and load order haven't changed because of an ini generation/configuration?

DynDOLOD installation error and discrepancy
RainyDayMatt replied to RainyDayMatt's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I'll try it again. My STEP compilation/patch is showing version # 1.2. instead of 2.2.9.2. as in screenshots. I've deleted and readded, with no change. Is that a known issue?- 3 replies

DynDOLOD installation error and discrepancy
RainyDayMatt posted a question in General Skyrim LE Support
I've been following the STEP guide to the letter, and I've made it down to the very end of the patches section without any crashes. However, I've been attempting to properly configure DynDOLOD for several days now, and I am continually experiencing CTDs - after starting the game, as I load a save (I also tried a new game, with the same crashes). I followed the detailed instructions to the letter with regard to installation, generation of LODs, and generation of DynDOLOD. If DynDOLOD, the archive imported during the Generate LODs section, and the archive imported during the Generate DynDOLOD section are all ticked, I get crashes; if I disable the last imported archive (from Generate DynDOLOD), the game runs, but I experience MCM complaints about inability to reach the JSON files. Is there any step implied by these errors that I might've missed or performed incorrectly? Is there a stack trace or other error log that I might examine? Also, the GamerPoets video includes download of billboards (vanilla, as well as SFO - which I installed as part of STEP), but skips generation of LODs and use of the TexGen script; is that video out of date? Should I be following it, or the written guide?- 3 replies

Step 16 in the "Generate DynDOLOD" installation guide contains this item: "Enable DynDOLOD.esp in the Plugins tab." I searched the guide, and it never said to disable that ESP. It was already enabled when I returned after closing TES5Edit. Did I miss a step? Does it matter that it was enabled?

Fuz Ro D'oh ini files and Overwrite
RainyDayMatt replied to RainyDayMatt's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I did just that. My mod folder is mods\Fixes - Fuz Ro D'oh, but otherwise it's identical. -
Every time I load MO or launch SKSE->Skyrim, I get an Overwrite warning which contains the SKSE/Plugins/Fuz Ro D'oh.ini folder/file. I have drug this into the mod multiple times, but it keeps reappearing. Any reason for this? I renamed the mod with the STEP category prefix in the left pane. Could that be a problem?

Overwriting STEP Optimized Vanilla Textures in Mod Organizer
RainyDayMatt replied to RainyDayMatt's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Sweet. Okay, one last question. I added all the mods on the list (except for ones that STEP extended users didn't need), and when I ran the STEP compilation installer, the option to install for STEP extended isn't available. The instructions say " See the OP of the forum topic to help determine any missing mods." The OP of what forum topic? -
Overwriting STEP Optimized Vanilla Textures in Mod Organizer
RainyDayMatt replied to RainyDayMatt's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Okay, awesome. And one more thing about situating priorities: I've been periodically running LOOT and letting it sort the plugin priority. That said, the left pane of MO has the priority rankings, too - and they're just sorted by time of install, which means they're in the order listed on the STEP guide. Do I need to be manually adjusting priority apart from order of install? Also, LOOT has 102 plugins listed as the total count, but I have 226 installed according to MO. I know I disabled the dummy plugins, and some mods affect existing mods, but that's still a big discrepancy. What causes that? -
I just finished the entire STEP Extended lineup installation, and I realized that I chose the Performance version of the STEP Optimized Vanilla textures, when I wanted the standard version. I know Mod Organizer keeps files in separate folders instead of constantly overwriting, but I didn't know how much overwriting actually got done. Can I download and install the right version without undoing all of the subsequent texture modification? Do I have to start all over?
