My laptop is also unable to use anything other than ENBoost. The desktop does fine with the Phinx Natural ENB. So it does appear that no matter the claims of the ENB Preset, some systems simply cannot run anything that alters: [PROXY] EnableProxyLibrary=false ProxyLibrary=other_d3d9.dll [GLOBAL]UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=trueUseDefferedRendering=false This tells me, without a doubt, that from hence forth we should recommend these settings be changed in the enblocal.ini if users experience their first CTD. If this doesn't fix the issue, then further troubleshooting is needed. However, this did also fix my issue on my laptop.

I haven't gotten around to installing the SMC guide myself yet. I'm not certain of the rules about sharing mods that are no longer available. I have a few things to do this morning, so it might be a couple of hours before I can get to it.

I'm currently getting my laptop optimized to install this guide on it as well. Keep in mind that it only has 2GB VRAM. I was able to make the older version of the guide work with it, so I feel confident I will be able to make the current setup do the same. My husband will be testing it for us when I have it all set up. As I go through the current Core guide again, I'll make certain I have the instructions and recent patches structured properly to update on the Nexus. I'll try to have it all finished and ready for release by the weekend.
