  1. I had this issue, I'm nowhere near sure, but I think it results from uninstalling MO. I just reinstalled LOOT and it worked fine.
  2. **** me sideways with a 5 iron, it's not DOING it anymore. Fallout's been doing this all day, I'm getting inconsistent returns on the same input. I dropped it to 120 and it worked fine, but I've had to reinstall both Fallout and Mod Organizer today for I don't know what reason, so on a hunch I popped it back up to 128 and it loaded just fine. Still got the error on line 30 of nvse_steam_loader.log, but it decided to run anyway. I'll probably drop it to 120 anyway, if only to eliminate that error (and thus a potential problem). There are times I hate computers. Like, seething, incandescent hatred on the order of nations. EDIT: Well, I'm getting crashes on exit, but that's nothing world-shattering I think. Right now I've only got the ENB, NVSE (+plugins) and FNV4GB installed, and I double-checked all my .ini settings, so here's hoping nothing goes horribly wrong as I start to add mods.
  3. So the nvse_config.ini is giving me headaches. If I try to use the values from the guide, I get the following error (ripped straight from the nvse_steam_loader.log file; starting on line 25 and continuing through 33, when it crashes) dll = E:\File System\Games\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout New Vegas\nvse_1_4.dll old winmain = 0086A850 fallout root = E:\File System\Games\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout New Vegas\ config path = E:\File System\Games\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout New Vegas\Data\NVSE\nvse_config.ini overriding memory pool sizes 128MB scrap heap is too large, clamping to 500MB. using your value will make the game unstable. default heap = 400MB OnHook: thread = 33288 calling winmain For reference, the guide says to set the following as your nvse_config.ini Memory DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=400 scrapheapsizeMB=128This fails to get to even a loading screen every single time. Deleting the second line seems to fix the problem, but as I'm not entirely sure what it is this actually does, I'm not sure whether that's an acceptable tradeoff. Yeah, World of Pain brings a lot of life back to the Mojave, which I think works well within the lore, with what Mr. House did to minimize the damage to the areas around the Strip. Patching is a concern as well, there's a lot of potential compatibility issues that I can look at while I rebuild my setup. I'm going to try installing it after the cut content restoration and run some test builds, see what I can make happen. Bashed Patch will hopefully get rid of a lot of those extra ESPs, but you never know.
  4. I'm betting this qualifies as a stupid question, but I guess I'll ask anyway. Have you considered including Mojave Music Radio - Extended (either in addition to or instead of CONELRAD)? I like it since it doesn't actually add any radio stations, but increases the variety; you'll still hear those spurs go jingle jangle jingle occasionally, but it will no longer dominate the world at large. I'd also be interested in World of Pain, though I can understand if you think it deviates too much from the core experience (there's some NICE stuff available VERY early if you use it and you know where to look). If nothing else, a clue as to where to install it in the load order would be nice; I'm tempted to put it in right after the uncut content. A thought I had, also, that's probably common sense to experienced modders, is that you should really have a Happy Place folder where you've compressed the vanilla game folder so you have a way to take off and nuke the site from orbit without waiting 4-6 business days for the game to redownload. I'm also wondering if doing texture optimization of the vanilla game could be done right at the beginning of the guide, right after you set MO up with the tools. I realize it's a bit of a process, but I don't think people would be frightened away quite so easily if you told them something on the order of "All this setup is hard, but it's also the hardest part of this guide to follow, and where most people mess up. If you do all of this correctly, the rest of this guide will be cake." Just my 2 cents. EDIT: changed the links to work properly, apparently nexus' provider doesn't like https
  5. So I'm not sure if it's an issue with my DNS or if it's on the Nexus's end, but my browser will not display any nexus links that are formatted "newvegas.nexusmods.com" until I reformat them to "nexusmods.com/newvegas." I know that the Nexus just did some pretty major work on their forum system, so that might be to blame, but that means that none of the Nexus links in the guide are actually working right now (for me; might just be an isolated case). Thought you should know, just in case it is a Nexus problem that they aren't planning on fixing soon.
  6. I'm fairly sure I moved all the ESPs that it told me to into the "Optional ESP" area of each mod, but I'll make a quick run through to make sure of that. EDIT: Worth noting that I haven't done the Bashed Patch yet. EDIT 2: Sweet mother of the night, that's a lot of merged ESPs. Lesson learned: Follow ALL of the instructions before asking stupid questions. You might find you don't need to ask the stupid questions.
  7. So I've followed all the Fear and Loathing instructions, using all the mods on that list (plus one, the nude Type 3 as opposed to the non-nude...people are supposed to be NAKED when they're naked, dammit!). I did make a mistake and not specify an output folder for FNVLODGen when I ran it, but it appeared to drop all the files into my overwrite folder nonetheless, and I think I recovered from that error (at least, New Vegas doesn't explode when I launch it, or when I start a new game). I'm about to launch into texture optimization (and that's a kettle of fish I'm not sure I won't tip into the fire), but I'm wondering if there's any way to reduce the number of plugins right now. I've got 146 active, and MO hasn't flagged any of them with that little broom like it did when I was modding Skyrim. Are there any mergeable plugins that aren't mentioned on the F&L guide (alternatively, what makes a set of plugins mergeable) or am I just going to have to muddle through and hope NV doesn't hate me forever? (If someone can point me at a tool to upload my plugin list/MO profile, I'm more than willing to supply that information. I can also just...type out the plugin list, if it comes down to that.)
