  1. A couple of snags when installing after STEP Extended. 1) I re-installed 'Enhanced Lighting for ENB - Lite' with the install option Legendary + Falskaar + Wyrmstooth. I believe this installs the ELE_Legendary_Fs_Wt_Lite.esp plugin. But the 'STEP Extended Patch.esp' and DynDOLOD.esp complain about a missing master: the 'ELE_Legendary_Lite.esp' plugin. I'm wondering if it's safe to enable both plugins, letting the plugin with support for Falskaar and Wyrmstooth override the basic one? 2) The second question is about The Immersive College of Winterhold which comes with patches for Relighting Skyrim. One of the patches is for a version with scripts, the other without. I've installed the "No JIT" version of RS as instructed in the STEP Guide. This produces the RelightingSkyrim_Legendary.esp plugin, but installing either patch through the college mod results in a missing master. That is, both have something other than RelightingSkyrim_Legendary.esp as a master. So should I install without a patch?
  2. Hi. I don't understand how to handle step 5 in the guide: Boss Userlist Sorting. Can these rules be brought into LOOT manually or automagically? I haven't installed BOSS and BUM because I thought it might not be a good idea to let BOSS and LOOT mix the same porridge. I admit I haven't read the fine manual for BOSS and BUM. Took a quick glance at LOOT's readme but found nothing.
  3. Sorry for the late reply. I had problems with the computer. I had this wonderfully naive thought that modding was actively supported by Bethesda. Meaning lots of deep documentation and tools. The mod file format documentation looks useful though. I had trouble understanding what kinds of records and fields there are. And how they're represented in TES5 of course. Seeing how someone could come up with all that by just taking something apart does give me hope :) For a start it might be easiest to try to take a compatibility patch and see how one of those is put together. Thanks to you all for the help.
  4. I'm struggling with the TES5Edit manual because of my lack of understanding of the key concepts: Records, FormIDs, filenodes, references to base and non-base objects. Oh boy. I'm getting cranky with these modern Wiki things and... video tutorials and whatnots. They're like jiggsaw puzzles to me, turned upside down. Need to get to the source. I read manuals for fun and cried a little when Mozilla stopped shipping a proper help file with Firefox. And if that was before you were even born... well, you can just get out of my lawn. And please let the dog bite you on your way out. Is there an official, properly constructed "modder's manual" lurking somewhere that the creators of xEdit might have used to build their program? And what resources did you guys use to master this stuff. I can't believe it could've been the Creation Kit Wiki. That, with all due respect, is a mess. Or is the current modding environment such that competence in the field is necessarily limited by the lack of proper documentation. Thank you.
