Revisited: Q&A for Dummies (me!)
triptonite replied to chopain's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
A question about DynDOLOD. When I get the new script after running DynDOLOD, do I make a new mod (as DynDOLOD Output) or do I merge it with DynDOLOD. The guide says to make a new folder in MO Mods. -
Hi Neovalen, Not sure where to do this (or if this is even needed). I got very confused over a simple step in your guide when installing aMidianBorn - ContentAddon. Special Installation: Do not install the following file(s) and/or folder(s): aMidianborn - Content AddOn: Improved Closefaced Helmets Version folderaMidianBorn_ContentAddon.esp (Instead, move the version found in the Improved Closefaced Helmets Version folder to the main data folder.)aMidianBorn_ContentAddOn_Installation directions.txt A 'suggestion' that 'might' stop spac-heads like me from making the same mistake again would be to rearrange the instruction so it reads: Special Installation: aMidianborn - Content AddOn: Move the ESP found in the Improved Closefaced Helmets Version folder to the main data folder. Do not install the following file(s) and/or folder(s):Improved Closefaced Helmets Version folderaMidianBorn_ContentAddon.espaMidianBorn_ContentAddOn_Installation directions.txt This is just a suggestion. Not sure if I am the only person to have ever made this mistake before - I did not install the aMidianBorn - ContentAddon.esp but put the Improved Closedfaced Helmets ESP in instead (I know, it sounds stupid now once someone pointed out the mistake to me).
-
Yeap, I completely misread this step. Maybe this needs to be a bit clearer (or maybe I am a spac-head). Thank you WeissJT. This has been perplexing me for a bit now.
-
It is not hidden and I did try reinstalling it. Just to clarify, the guide said to not install aMidianborn_Content_Addon.esp and to replace with the ESP from Improved Closefaced Helmets [WAF Replacer ESP (Download)] (?). Special Installation: Do not install the following file(s) and/or folder(s): aMidianborn - Content AddOn: Improved Closefaced Helmets Version folderaMidianBorn_ContentAddon.esp (Instead, move the version found in the Improved Closefaced Helmets Version folder to the main data folder.) I did this but had no aMidianborn_Content_Addon.esp the first time, just the imp_helm_legend.esp. I thought that maybe I was supposed to rename the new ESP as aMidianborn_Content_Addon.esp but it still did not turn up in TES5Edit. Am I misreading the above step? Because if i am, the guide is not very clear to noobs.

Sorry to be such a pain with these questions. Is there a reason why I cannot see the aMidianborn_Content_Addon.esp when I do this step? 00000EEF SublistArmorBootsDaedricBest05Conflict Resolution: Use record from Hothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.esp then move the added AMB items from aMidianborn_ContentAddon.esp. Problem Resolved: Leveled list conflict between Immersive Armors and aMidianBorn Book of Silence needed to be properly merged.

That is not an option. Wait a minute. I was looking in MO. It is in TES5Edit. Thank you.

How do I make Alternate Start a master?
-
If I try this step: XX01AE24 OBISFactionXX = Index of OBIS.esp Conflict Resolution: Use record from OBIS.esp then right-click on the Relations line and click Add. Right-click the newly created Faction entry and select Edit. Paste "ARTHLALBanditVampireFaction [FACT:YY0189E8]" where YY = Index of Alternate Start - Live Another Life.esp and click [OK]. Right-click the newly created Group Combat Reaction entry and select Edit. Type "Ally" then click [OK]. Problem Resolved: Organized Bandits In Skyrim added bandits attacked the player if using the bandit alternate start. it says "FormID [990189E8] references a master which is not available in file [9E] SR Conflict Resolution.esp." Do I need to make Alternate Start a master of SR Conflict Resolution?
-
I didn't think of thaty. I have not been using the form id but the mod itself. Came up with form id (but not through the mod search - go figure)
-
Sure did

Thanks for that reply. I figured it out afterwards. I do not have 0002BDDD > 000D5E9BDoes anyone know why this be?

Hi guys, not sure what I have to do here: Block 2 > Sub-Block 4 > 00071FFE SolitudeJusticiarsHeadquarters > Temporary > 00036423 Conflict Resolution: Use record from Cutting Room Floor.esp. Problem Resolved: Changes from Cutting Room Floor were being overridden by Enhanced Lights and FX. Can anyone help please? (i.e. what record from Cutting Room Floor do I move to SR Conflict Resolution.esp?)

Thank you soooo much. Did not leave the installation instruction for Bathing in Skyrim carefully enough.

I still cannot get the Realistic Water Two merge right. I put the ESPs in the right order in MO and followed the instructions in the "TES5Edit Mod Merging Subguide". However, when the merge has finished the 2 Falskaar patches are not in bold (indicating to me that they did not merge into the merged ESP. When I run LOOT, I get 5 errors from Bathing in Skyrim (Water for Realistic Water Two Falskaar/Legendary/Vanilla), each saying that I do not have either RealisticWaterTwo.esp, RealisticWaterTwo - Falskaar.esp, RealisticWaterTwo - Legendary.esp installed. I have no idea where I have gone wrong. Have redone this over 5 times now. Help please! P.S. The whole thing fixes when I check the original Realistic Water Two, but to me this defeats the pupose of merging the ESPs.

Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

Wondering why Vivid Clouds and Fogs install does not use CoT and AOS patches when installing. Also, has ESS been proposed at all? Looks like a good mod. -
Hi Neovalen, I can not thank you enough for sharing your monumental task AND sharing it to others in such a way that others can follow no matter their experience, ability or confidence in modding. You are teaching many people so much about modding, computers and the behind-the-scenes-programming of Skyrim (and as a high school teacher, I believe you are a natural). One frustration I have with Mod Organiser (Australian way of spelling it) is that the categories do not match up with Nexus or NMM. I looked up whether or not this can be changed and found an enterprising fellow (HentaiJin) that made up a .dat file to install in the MO folder that changes the categories so that they correspond to the categories found at Nexus (SEE https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/473728-mod-organizer/page-681). Since you state that you categorise your mods in MO, I was wondering if you were aware of it. I also have taken a strategy to organise all of the mods and programs needed to install SRLE into a SRLE Folder that then has sub folders corresponding to your sub headings in the walkthrough (see below). SRLE Folders.docx I know it is a bit OCD, but with so many mods and with weird naming by authors that can make it hard to find some, reinstalling SRLE becomes so much easier. I just dump each .7z in the corresponding category. I am guessing that when you make alterations that this folder system can then be soooo much easier to update my mods. In your walkthrough to install the AWESOME SRLE, a tweak that can be added to each mod listing could also be to add a new sub-heading "Nexus category" under "Version" so that it can easily be categorised as installation takes place (for people like me that already have the mods and are just reinstalling them). Anyway keep up the good work. Sorry for being so verbose.

Revisited: Q&A for Dummies (me!)
triptonite replied to chopain's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
I have followed the SRLE installation and optimized the Bethesda Textures myself in DDSopt. However, the DDSopt guide says that I do not need to optimize the DLCs so I did not. I also do not have DG, DB and Hearthfires showing in the left window. The ESMs all show up in the right Plugins window and the game runs fine through the SRLE profile. The guide states the following left window view (with the ones I see and do not see next to it. * Vanilla Optimized Y * Dawnguard N * Dawnguard Optimized N * Hearthfire N * Hearthfire Optimized N * Dragonborn N * Dragonborn Optimized N * HighResTexturePack01 Y * HRDLC1 Optimized Y * HighResTexturePack02 Y * HRDLC2 Optimized Y * HighResTexturePack03 Y * HRDLC3 Optimized Y * Cleaned Vanilla ESMs Y * Skyrim Script Extender Y I also do not know now where to put the Unofficial patches as a result of my left window. -
The Pre-optimization files don't match the guides.
triptonite replied to Gundammit's question in DDSopt Support
I worked it out. When I set up the "Working" folder I named the four sub-sub folders with the brackets. This should be written a little clearer for boofheads like me. HRDLC1 (contents of HighResTexturePack01.bsa) instead of HRDLC1 HRDLC2 (contents of HighResTexturePack02.bsa) instead of HRDLC2 HRDLC3 (contents of HighResTexturePack03.bsa) instead of HRDLC3 STD (extract 'Skyrim - textures.bsa' - only) instead of STD -
The Pre-optimization files don't match the guides.
triptonite replied to Gundammit's question in DDSopt Support
When I download the latest batch files and unzip it, there is no "Vanilla Compressed Textures" folders. Is this a problem? -
Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
triptonite replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Love Skyrim Revisited. I bought and built a new computer just so I could mod the hell out of Skyrim and stumbled upon STEP then SRLE. Have spent over a week going through the process of following the guide. Up until 2 months ago I considered myself a noob at modding and grew in confidence. Your guide has taken it to a whole new level with DDSopt, TES5Edit and patching/merging (so I still call myself a noob but it is changing). I have fnally installed everything up to the Conflict Resolution section and have stumbled upon a problem. I could not find the "0703C819 DLC2SkaalClothesChild" entry or the RSChildren_CompleteUSKP.esp. I have RSChildren in MO but not TES5Edit. I checked the Mod Folder in MO an RSChildren_CompleteUSKP.esp is in the right place. I rechecked if I did the installation correctly, but cannot see what I missed out. On another note, I was also wondering why more of the mods had not been merged as the installation took place. I saw a YouTube clip that merged a whole lot of body and facial mods and I was wondering why this sort of thing was not done in SRLE. Is it because control over how the mods works is lost? And if so, should I have said "no" when MO asked if I wanted to merge mods that had the same name (usually compatibility patches that went with a mod)? Thanks again for the huge undertaking. I can understand why you have done it - I love modding, enabling others to mod and learning about modding. I just can't wait to play! -
How do I disable the ESPs in Bathing in Skyrim for SRLE?
triptonite posted a question in General Skyrim LE Support
In the SRLE guide by Neovalen, he instructs to disable all theinstalled ESP's for Bathing in Skyrim and to add a different merged version. Do I delete the ESP's in the mod folder in Mod Organiser or do I do it another way? Thank you for any help in advance. -
When I try to merge the Realistic Water Two files, they are all out of order when I open TES5Edit (Master/Plugins Selection window). I get: RealisticWaterTwo - Falskaar.esp RealisticWaterTwo - Legendary.esp RealisticWaterTwo - Waves - Falskaar.esp RealisticWaterTwo - Waves - Wyrmstooth.esp RealisticWaterTwo - Wyrmstooth.esp RealisticWaterTwo.esp Any idea how I can change the order, since the las listed file is needed first?
-
Stupid me. I didn't extract the files before merging with TES5Edit.
-
There is no Merge Plugins at all.
-
I have tried to merge The CoT files (DG, DB & Falskaar) a number of times now but continually fail to get the "Merge plugins vX.XX" in the drop down menu of TES5Edit. I have reinstalled TES5Edit and Merge Plugins xEdit Script a few times now in case I did not properly install either and have followed all videos in the forum thread and others. But I still do not get the "Merge plugins vX.XX" drop down. Can someone please help me as I am starting to get really frustrated.
