Archery Skill Tree and Standing Stones
Paes replied to Paes's topic in General Skyrim SE Discussion & Support
Thanks, this is what I was after. I had read elsewhere that after recent changes, only the Warrior Stone affected Archery. -
Archery Skill Tree and Standing Stones
Paes posted a topic in General Skyrim SE Discussion & Support
Hi all, I've applied Step v2.1.0 and I'm trying to determine whether the Warrior Stone or Thief Stone will affect the archery skill tree. Does anyone know how this is supposed to work in the vanilla game, and whether or not Step v2.1.0 changes how it works? Thanks! -
Thanks for the response. I'm playing using the latest STEP build. You raise a good point on playing a "controlled" build. It's also been my experience that controlling the character development makes the game tedious, since avoiding levels through speechcraft and lockpicking make the game less immersive. I do enjoy the challenge though, so I will avoid manipulating skill multipliers on this playthrough --- but I will eventually try a build with speech and lockpicking multipliers reduced, since that seems as though it would make the game a lot more fluid and enjoyable. For gold, I guess I'm limited to bounties for now. Any thoughts on early game gear or buffs?

Thanks for the response. This is pretty much exactly how I've started all my archer builds up to now.

Hi all, I'm returning to Skyrim after a long hiatus and am planning a male, bosmer, stealth archer build. I'm looking for some suggestions based on how I plan to build my character. Here's some information on how I plan on building/playing: Don't want to use exploits Don't want to acquire weapons in the early game that are best left for the later game Don't want to use Bound weapons In the early game, I only plan on developing only Archery and Sneak (ie. I want to prevent anything else from gaining a level) Based on this playstyle, I'm looking for early-game suggestions on the following: Bow Gear for buffing archery Best way to earn gold Without buying/selling/pickpocketing, I'm limited to whatever I find in unlocked chests Passive buffs - I am planning on Agent of Mara, Agent of Dibella, and Ancient Knowledge Any other suggestions are welcome!

Plate Glitch - Has this been patched?
Paes replied to Paes's topic in General Skyrim SE Discussion & Support
Oh, my bad. I've never tried this exploit, so I don't know if it actually works, but according to a bunch of YouTube guides I've watched, it appears that if a player holds a plate or any type of platter in front of a wall or inaccessible area, and then attempts to run through the plate, the end result is that the player ends up running through the wall/door/whatever and ends up on the other side. Here's a few links to what I'm referring to: -
Hi all, I searched through the USSEP change log and wasn't able to find a reference to this bug, so I'm wondering if I missed it, or if it is not patched through USSEP or some other mod. .. just curious!

I reinstalled the Particle Patch in the Foundation group, reran LOOT, and the warning disappeared --- so I must have done something wrong during the installation of that patch. Does reinstalling this patch require any further action, or should I be OK? I'm not sure if this would affect anything like data created during the LODgen steps or save games.

I've used the FOMOD installer and selected the correct options. I've disabled the .esp because that's what the guide instructed --- I don't know if this is correct or not. I've installed all the mods in the suggested order. I've installed ENB Light as instructed. I've sorted with LOOT. I appreciate that it's "all in the instructions" --- but sometimes people are not successful in following the instructions, and are looking for people with experience to help figure out where they've gone wrong. I'm not really sure where to go from here.

Help w/Performance Tuning - SSETweaks
Paes replied to Paes's topic in General Skyrim SE Discussion & Support
As is usually the case with technical problems, the issue was between the keyboard and the chair. I had erred during my edit of the .ini file and messed up some settings. Once reverting to the proper settings, all functions by design. Thanks for helping get me back on track. -

I did, but the default settings you've posted don't seem to deviate from anything that I've already tried. -
Help w/Performance Tuning - SSETweaks
Paes replied to Paes's topic in General Skyrim SE Discussion & Support
I've tried both: Left Shift + Insert Right Shift + Insert ... no dice, either way. I'm going to try the custom .ini file, although I'm not really clear on why that should matter if the default .ini is functioning properly. -

1) The location is: C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\ModOrganizer\Skyrim - STEP v2.1.0\mods\SSE Display Tweaks\SKSE\Plugins 2) I don't have anything other than the default .ini file, at the moment -

Help w/Overwrite Files - New Step Build v2.1.0
Paes replied to Paes's topic in General Skyrim SE Discussion & Support
I'm sure it does --- but from a layman's perspective, if this is the way it should be done, then perhaps it should be included in the guide. The guide currently states something a little on the contrary, which makes it confusing for less experienced modders. Anyways, just my $0.02. Appreciate the help. -
Help w/Overwrite Files - New Step Build v2.1.0
Paes replied to Paes's topic in General Skyrim SE Discussion & Support
Curious --- why might this be omitted from the STEP guide if this is the better way to go about it? I can't find any reference to this suggestion in the guide, but maybe I missed it. Are there pros/cons to this approach, or is this just unequivocally better? -
Hi all, I'm working through the Performance Tuning area of the STEP v2.1.0 guide and have arrived at the point where I'm trying to establish some FPS benchmarks. When I get to the part where I need to enable the SSE OSD, it does not enable. That is, left shift+INS does not toggle the OSD as expected. I've tried switching the .INI file to have the OSD on by default, but that doesn't work either. I've tried wading through the SKSE64.log, but according to the log, SSETweaks is loading successfully. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Help w/Overwrite Files - New Step Build v2.1.0
Paes replied to Paes's topic in General Skyrim SE Discussion & Support
Thanks all. If you'll pardon my ignorance: 1) What is the "original data folder"? I know every install path may be different, but just looking for some general direction. 2) How do I determine what the "respective mod" is for files in the SKSE overwrite folder? I've broken down the folders a little more in the screenshot below. -
Hi all, I'm working through my newest STEP build on v2.1.0, and after successfully launching the game after creating Group 20, I'm seeing files in the Overwrite folder, and I'm not sure how to determine where they belong. I've read the explanations in the STEP guide, but I still don't understand. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
