ELE ImageSpace Plus Further Darker Dungeons for ENB
Salvador replied to DoYouEvenModBro's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Got it. Has JawZ made any other popular mods? I haven't heard the name before I randomly started seeing ELE Imagespace news everywhere. Yes, he worked on Relighting Skyrim a lot, but took a break from modding ;) (you don't). Now he works on ELE, which will make Relighting Skyrim redundant. Lot of double work if you ask me. He did a lot of other work as well, and written a very usefull ENB guide. -
Yep, ENB settings can do this. It usually is Image based lighting though, not necessarily AO. Try setting IBL off to see if it was that, if it really was caused by AO, make sure you have transparancy AA turned off in your skyrimprefs.ini and GPU settings and try other AO type, you can change between 0 and 9. I usually stick to 2 or 5, however, just see which looks best for you.

ENB DoF messing up Trees
Salvador replied to DoYouEvenModBro's question in General Skyrim LE Support
It might be. It's one of those but regardless, I just noticed some sort of DoF effect on the trees. You can mix and match different focusing systems with different enbs, right? Like I can use one enb authors enbeffectprepass.fx with another enb? If that is the case, which DoF do you prefer? I will try that. Project ENB DoF is lighter than SkyRealism I think but it still bugs out sometimes. I find that DoF is amazing for screenshots but kind of annoying during gameplay.Depends, usually you should be able to. I tried several, but certainly not all of them, I used the one from Phinix Natural ENB (a nice ENB as well). and changed the ENB settings a bit to make it rather subtle and fast effect. However I don't know if there is anything special about his DOF, it felt nicest for me personally. I stopped using ENB DOF though, as I can live without. I am already at ~30FPS and DOF just was a hit to much. -
ENB DoF messing up Trees
Salvador replied to DoYouEvenModBro's question in General Skyrim LE Support
The effect is the other way round, fuller when in focus and not full when not in focus?? Because DOF blurring should happen when not in focus, causing out of focus to be more dense (sort off) But this depends completely on the DOF file you use, there are a lot of different DOF versions out there. For example, the quite extreme version of Matso's DOF would cause the tree to lose density when out of focus due to the way it is blurred. Apart from the seperate DOF codes you can find that change the way DOF is done in Skyrim, there are also several settings to change the blurring etc. This should give you plenty of options to find what you like best, without messing up the trees too much. I personally prefer very subtle DOF. -
You should try running ENBoost at least, should give you smoother gameplay, not sure if it will help with the FPS though. Another thing you could look at, although I expect you did that already, is to make sure all crapware is shut down (unnecesary software starting up with windows). And that the energy settings for your laptop are set to maximum performance (otherwise it will throttle the processor speed, as well as park some of your cores when usage isn't high enough, which could possibly explain your FPS fluctuations). Although this doesn't explain the difference between STEP 2.2.3 and 2.2.7. Have you tried/saved your old ini files as well? EDIT: About SMIM, are you only missing the rope meshes? You can see in MO which files overwrite eachother from other mods. This should show you how it is possible that you loose the mesh ingame. From the top of my head, just doubleclick the mod in the left panel and go to conflict tab. EDIT2: Your VRAM at 9000+ (is this Mb?)Â would indicate you have 3GB dedicated and the 6GB RAM is shared between GPU and system?!? Do you know if this is the case? If it is, there usually is the option to disable the shared VRAM in your bios. I suggest you do that. Good luck!

Skyrim Object Fade is causing a big FPS hit? (7950)?
Salvador replied to Deathwing514's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Why are we talking about GPU brands? Object fade is purely CPU related when combined with any decent GPU. I have a 4.5Ghz OC on my CPU (2500K). Now it is difficult to isolate 1 setting, but I can assure you that changing the object fade with the OC has no effect. I also have AMD GPU 6950 NO OC showing that a lower level GPU does not reflect in FPS change in object Fade. Now if I remove the CPU OC I do see a FPS loss by increasing object fade, albeit minimal. Simple experiment. Now I know other factors might influence this, but I am pretty sure this has nothing to do with GPU and thus drivers. All the reviews and everything you see that mention object fade do have 2 things in common, they don't run STEP and they have a good CPU as they want the CPU to not influence any benchmark they do. Now off topic: FPS hit because of object fade is no reason for Origin to drop AMD, object fade is the discussion of this thread. I have been most pleased with my 6950. In fact so pleased I intend to buy AMD again next time. There is no better or worse here. It is a continuous debate based on gut feelings and personal experiences. Because I am pleased with my AMD and was not with my previous NVIDIAs does not mean all NVIDIA is bad or all AMD are good. I personally never had any driver issues with AMD (I did with NVIDIA and reading some recent posts here, there still are problems around new NVIDIA drivers) and am rather pleased that AMD only updates drivers every month and not more. The reason for Origins public drop seems to be their pride. Read for example here. The fact that AMD will be in both Playstation 4 and XBOX One is something that would indicate there is nothing wrong with AMD graphics. It seems their lack of communication with smaller vendors was the reason. Or if you believe sites like THIS, something else entirely. Now I believe in teh good of people , so I just assume it was the former problem. -
CTD right after Intro when first exploring world
Salvador replied to MageVortex's question in General Skyrim LE Support
The bit I can see, your mod list looks good. Since you are starting over, you might just as well do the new STEP changes. Simply remove the mods removed from the list and add the new ones. Should be easy in MO. Then run boss etc. Play from the beginning. Still don't understand why your game wants to load Wyrmstooth.esp if you don't have it installed??? By starting from the beginning you literally mean new game right? New character creation. uGirds=7 can run stable on most systems. However, if you have stability problems I suggest you first run with the default uGrids=5, seeing you didn't really know what it did. Have you properly optimised your textures? this can help as well. 2K textures should work on your machine with ENB but it is allways good to optimize. Do you run a lot of crapware in the background. Make sure all unnecessary programs that start up when you start your computer are shut down/blocked from starting up. Another point to look at is your enblocal.ini. The one that comes with RealVision ENB is not necessarily configured for your computer. Or did you already tweak your enbloacal? Make sure the VideoMemorySizeMb is set to your VRAM size, (because it is set to 4096 by default in RealVision ENB) and make sure ReservedMemorySizeMb is set between 128 and 512. 128 works best for me, but this is personal. Although Aiyen is correct that the ENB does all the memory optimisations for you, every system is different, hence these settings in the enblocal.ini. EDIT: It should be noted that with a properly tweaked ENB I did not notice much, if any, reduction in performance by increasing uGridsToLoad to 7, however, since I was running 2K textures with only 2GB VRAM I was getting occational Freezes/slowdowns and infinate loading screens (again occational). I switched back to uGirds 5 -

Your log is pretty strange. It has a lot of missing esps listed for a number of scripts. This usually indicates your save is not new, and these mods were previously installed with these scripts still trying to execute?! Did you really start a new game?. Which ENB dll are you running? Have you sorted the mods that are not recognised by BOSS? Could you make a list of all your installed mods? And another important question, what sort of STEP did you install, you say extreme version? You have good hardware, but the Skyrim engine is still rather limited sadly. Did you mainly use 1024K or bigger textures? High quality textures and uGrids=9 is mental really. Even recent ENBs can't help you stay under the memory limit at some point you know. It should also be noted that uGrids at 9 can cause sstrange bugs, for example, If you insist on having higher uGrids, I would use 7. Better than 5 with less problems attached to it. Since riverwood is already fully loaded with uGirds at 9 when reaching the stones, it sounds like a script that starts is causing the issue, such as the wolfs sensing your presence. It even lists a weapon rack activation? Why is there a weapon rack script activated when you are ouside running towards Riverwood? Skyrim is strange sometimes. -
No, not necessarily - I was just responding to Phosphor's reference to the Romans. I don't think insisting on holding a fantasy planet to a fixed period of Earth history would make too much sense. Having said that, every single structure in Skyrim appears to be built of some combination of wood and stone. There are lumber mills all over the place, and all other road signs are made of wood. All I'm saying is that I find it fairly implausible that any society, including the present day, would use cloth as the medium for a system of permanent markers on a road system, and I find it a bit jarring. If there was some type of manned checkpoint, or a town that fell right on the border, banners there would make sense to me. As I said though, it's not a cut and dried argument, just how I see it. If others like them, that's great! Ah, apologies if I came across a bit harsh, I agree with you to be honest ;). I feel they should have been made of wood, as that is how roadsigns and most modern day (in Skyrim) signs are made. Most stone markings are ancient (in Skyrim). it is just something that comes up a lot on fora around Skyrim. Most people do seem to link the Imperials to the Romans and Skyrim to that period and is therefore often the reason for debate around how lore friendly/realistic something is, which is flawed in my opinion. However, playing the game wise, I really like this mod and it adds something that was missing, albeit a little unrealistic, having nothing seems even more unrealistic to me, especially regarding the civil war, which has been pointed out previously. Now if someone made real (ancient Skyrim) crippled borders such as those found in Wales to mark borders to land for farmers, now that would be cool. Hey perhaps I just found what my new mod will be ;). If I find the time, and my wife doesn't kill me :P.

Skyrim Object Fade is causing a big FPS hit? (7950)?
Salvador replied to Deathwing514's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Ok, Agreed. I should note, I use ENB and I also run at ~30FPS due to that ENB. I try not to drop below that. I removed the multicore tweaks on Boris his advise, and was no longer able to maintain 30 FPS. Hence I put them back in, and now I run fine with 30FPS and mostly 2K textures on a 6950 2GB. I am going to reinstall everything with 1K as the 2GB is holding me back on FPS and although 30 should be fine, I still notice stutter and drops from time to time. As I have not much time at the moment to even update my MOD, testing will be a while. But I'll provide some evidence at some point as to which settings actually do something. This will be difficult, as some of them might only perform together, so lots of testing to do there. For now, these settings have not hurt me at all and are easily reverted. -
Skyrim Object Fade is causing a big FPS hit? (7950)?
Salvador replied to Deathwing514's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Shadows are only rendered till a certain distance as dictated by the ini. Any objects further away will not receive shadows. Also the objects that are regulated by the Object fade are just that, objects. Not things like Foliage or Trees, and since he/she tested every setting, those clearly don't affect his performance, indicating something unrelated to shadows, as tree and grass shadows give the biggest performance hit (GPU dependant, which is not the OPs problem). This would also suggest that lower res textures aren't going to help related to the object fade setting. 3GB is plenty and he has a fast GPU. The rest is all correct. I suggest OP OCs his CPU. as that is what the 2500K is really good at and I assume it is also the reason he bought it? As there is otherwise no need to pay for the extra premium over the non K counterpart. Simpel way to do it is to simply set the turbo boost on all cores to 4 Ghz, if you have a decent PSU and MOBO. I am still surprised though about a 10FPS drop from simply further away objects. They shouldn't give that much of a hit. OP has pretty good CPU as is. To Deathwing: Did you try the multicore CPU tweaks? They gave me a 5FPS boost, backup your ini though!!. Now it should be noted that most of the tweaks are placebo and not supported by STEP. However, since I don't have the time to figure out which I just kept them and haven't harmed me in the last year. Do you have full step installed? -
SKYRIMLE Lush Trees and Grass by SparrowPrince
Salvador replied to DoYouEvenModBro's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Been using this for a long time. ULO just is too heavy on my machine. I do agree that it isn't easily spotted on the mod page that there is a non-silly tree version as well. -
So we assume Skyrim is still in ancient times? Dyes and cloth don't seem to be hard to come by these days. As long as they don't have polluting petrol, guns and computers, they must be ancient right? Most people can read and write. There also seems to be some form of law enforcement, as well as money being the main currency. They came a long way if you ask me. Builders and stone workers, I haven't seen any of those around in Skyrim yet. I find the banners OK. Although, simple wooden signposts would suffice better. I'm liking the mod, thanks for pointing it out. It will be in my load order from now on.

Skyrim Object Fade is causing a big FPS hit? (7950)?
Salvador replied to Deathwing514's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Strange, I never tested this, but it should indeed not cause any significant performance impact.Looking at your hardware your CPU is the only thing that can be holding you back on this, also this type of thing, especially in Skyrim is CPU dependant not so much GPU. I have the same CPU but OC to 4.5Ghz, gave me massive boost in FPS in Skyrim. Another thing. If your FPS goes below 60 with Vsync on, it goes down to about 50 to stay 'in sync' you could try doing the same test with vsync off. Other than that, I don't think there is much you can do to improve it. -
Purple waterfalls and default foam
Salvador replied to danime91's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Good that you solved it. So it wasn't related to ENB, I had very blue and bright waterfalls due to ENB settings once. Took me ages to figure out which settings applied to it. -

Purple waterfalls and default foam
Salvador replied to danime91's question in General Skyrim LE Support
This seems to me an ENB related issue, try disabling your ENB and see if it is gone. If it is gone after that, you need to tweak your ENB particle settings to get rid of it. -

Salvador replied to AyleidRuin's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Hi there, You seem to be a bit hard to follow, but yes, it is a trade off, as I mentioned in my posts. The further the distance the uglier the shadows. That is why I use highest shadow settings in my ENB preset to counter balance that. I am happy with Primary shadowresolution 2048 and a distance of 12000.0000 (that is indeed what I meant apologies), but this is naturally a personal thing. You might feel 8000.0000 is a more appropriate setting. But if you do not use the ENB shadow tweaks, your shadows are going to look ugly with anything above 4000.0000 Any recent ENB preset automatically includes ENBoost. I am not sure you understand how it works or not as that part was a bit hard for me to follow. ENBoost should never give you these drops, so something in the settings is wrong. I suggest you try the latest skyrealism preset, however, you have to use the injector with all those other programs in the background! They do can cause issues with ENB! Why do you run all of them? -
CTD and i can't find a solution
Salvador replied to paul666root's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Only one of the two Oblivion Gates v3 esps should be activated, not both!. But I don't think that is the issue, but it is worth a try. It could be you might have to many hi-res textures for 1GB of VRAM. However, since you run ENB, I have my doubts about that being the cause for crashes. There is nothing else obviously wrong about the list as far as I can see. Edit: You have all the wearable lanterns add ons, but not the actual wearable lanterns esp installed. Make sure you have that installed and enabled! -

Salvador replied to AyleidRuin's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Distance of 3000 makes the shadows real nice up close. But also draws that ugly line closer. Setting it higher pushes that line further away, but again, makes the shadows less nice. Do you use ENB. you can use ENBoost and activate the shadows only with little performance impact. Makes it possible to set the shadowdistance higher without the shadows becoming noticably ugly. Also ENB makes shadows better in general. Set bDrawLandShadows=1 if you use ENB as well as bFloatPointRenderTarget=1. I'm not sure if there is a preset only enabling shadows, but it should be easy to make it yourself. Your ini seems fine. Edit: indoor a distance of 4000 is my personal sweet spot (just find your personal flavor ;)). no need to go higher. Higher only for outdoor. -
ne1 have this? Weird texture POV line shenanigans
Salvador replied to AyleidRuin's question in General Skyrim LE Support
This is indeed a shadow issue. If you have the power to run your shadowdistance at 12.000 or higher, you will not see this line anymore. Be warned though, such a high shadowdistance setting will make your shadows rather blocky. Make sure you use ENB shadows to solve that and set shadowsplitcount to 2 if it isn't already. Again, only if your machine can handle it, setting the primary shadow resolution to 2048 or higher will also reduce the blockyness. This line used to drive me crazy, and it's presence is dependant on the current weather type. COT doesn't help either. -
What do you mean by bad editor ID? You get the ID for the actual item ingame (reference ID). Not the base Item ID. If that is what you want, you can obtain it through the help command ingame if you know the proper item name. Just google how to do that (Not always easy though!). You cannot use reference IDs to spawn items in-game. You need the base ID. Another way is to use the search function of the CK to find the actual item you found the reference ID for in game, and see what base item/ID it uses.

Salvador replied to danime91's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Strange bug. Are you using wrye bash or MO? Have you activated the BSAs, to keep proper load order? Try disabling SkyFalls and SkyMills and see if the bug is still there. You see, my mod comes with its own meshes for waterfalls. So for some reason the textures it references too are no longer there. Which is strange, as it should work fine with vanilla Skyrim. Try reinstalling my mod. Disbaling WATER should not make a difference to waterfalls anymore. -
Yea, I know. I used to use 4x SSAA before ENB 0.119 and below. I miss it :-(. It used to be so sharp. I've found that the SMAA + EdgeAA combination is meh but I guess I really don't have any other choice if I want all the ENB effects. On my system, AMD 6950, forcing CCC AA settings doesn't effect deferred rendering, however, it also doesn't seem to do anything in game either. Don't know why.

Infinite loading screen when fast travelling from Solstheim to Skyrim
Salvador replied to DaBozz's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Skyfalls/Skymills was only brought up in regards to the floating waterfalls i think, but I think the next update is supposed to fix that, right?I have several reports on my mod page about the Solstheim to skyrim loading issue, and if you search back through this thread it comes up twice as being related if I'm not wrong. About the update, Yes it should fix it for those that have the issue (Related to the original RWT). Do you have that issue? Can I send you a test esp and Could you please confirm for me that it is indeed fixed? I should have time to finish it and upload it next Saturday. Yup! I have that issue. Feel free to send me a test esp. I can try it out tonight or tomorrow. You can PM me if you want.I've send you the file. Please let me know if you find anything wrong. You can post in the floating waterfall thread if you like, as this gets off topic ;) Thanks!
