Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

I'm assuming a CR patch is something from TES5Edit? Looks like it's learning time. -

I wish I made it up, lol. Its's from The Oatmeal. I wonder if I can finish my SR:LE install tonight... On a seperate note, what would have to be done to use SPERG with this mod? I would use SkyRe, but there are way too many gameplay changes involved with that one. Do I just dump SPERG on top at the end, clean it, bash a patch and patch with SUM? Or are there other considerations involved? -

Thank you, and all praise be upon your teachings. May a flock of vaginas find its way to your crotch by days' end. -
Grace me with your presence great one!! Haha, so I just move the "data" folder from Vividian ENB to the Vividian-Weather-lighting and Climates of Tamriel Enchancement in the mod organizer / mods directory? Also: Thanks for putting together instructions like this for dudes like me who are new to this!! Cheers!

Aw, thanks anyway, man. I got the BUM thing figured out though. So one step at time I guess.

When I am performing these instructions. do I just move that data folder (from the vividian enb) into the "Vididian - Weather - Lighting and Climates of Tamriel Enhancement" folder in my mod organizer/mods directory? Those instructions need to be clarified, for dumb people. Like me. -
I do, and thank you! My noobiness comes out here. Did not think to check the master list. Can you tell me what this means? Special Installation: After installation, open the ENB preset archive installed earlier and install the files located in the Data Files folder. Is this referring to the original ENBSeries or the Vividan one? Also, install the files is kind of cryptic. Do I just copy the files from vividian enb/main files/data/textures to the Vividian Weather mod in the Mod organizer mod directory? These last few instructions are confusing. =(

I have a question regarding BUM as well.. During the Enhanced lighting for ENB portion of the guide it says to make a rule-- OVERRIDE ELE-Interior Lighting.esp BOTTOM Extra Late What does this mean? I tried to manually type it into the upper left pane adjacent to "BOTTOM" and it gives me an error. The error is "Sort object (Extra Late) is not defined int the masterlist or userlist". Now I am afraid to continue for fear of messing up my whole install. I'm guessing that "Extra Late" is a file I missed somewhere... Halp? EDIT: Is "Extra Late" some kind of voodoo that tells BUM to put it last no matter what or something? Even though it gives me that error, I feel like I should just continue on, because these directions have been pretty damn spot-on.

DDsopt question involving Skyrim Revisited: Legendary Edition
FamousDeadGuy replied to FamousDeadGuy's question in DDSopt Support
Sweet, got all of it extracted last night. There was some error during the 3rdHRDLC optimization, but hopefully everything is fine. Now onto the ENB! -

Well that would explain the longer times! Awesome. So a renamed .bsa's in neat little folders will work just fine then? -
DDsopt question involving Skyrim Revisited: Legendary Edition
FamousDeadGuy replied to FamousDeadGuy's question in DDSopt Support
Dragon Prince, so these extracted files aren't .bsa's? The output files that were put into the folder for me were a text document and a BSA. I just want to make sure I have done this right, because it is fairly time-consuming. -
DDsopt question involving Skyrim Revisited: Legendary Edition
FamousDeadGuy replied to FamousDeadGuy's question in DDSopt Support
I followed the SR:LE guide and used their .ini to optimize the textures through DDSopt. In the instructions it said to make seperate folders for each extraction. I followed the directions and am up to the HRDLC part, which is taking a while. I have an AMD FX something or other.. I know it has eight cores and 4.2 Ghz clockspeed. I just wanted to make sure the process wasn't getting messed up because it was taking so long. It makes sense not to move them into the data folder, because I want to keep that clean. So you are saying that MO will have these optimized textures overwrite the default ones? That is pretty nifty. What about renaming the optimzed .bsa's? Do you think I should? -
DDsopt question involving Skyrim Revisited: Legendary Edition
FamousDeadGuy posted a question in DDSopt Support
Did a quick search, couldn't find a specific answer to my 2 questions.. 1. Is the process of ddsopt supposed to take hours? The main textures .bsa from the data folder took almost three hours. 2. I named the target folders the prescribed name "Vanillia Textures optimized", but the files that end up in the folders after the optimization are named "bsa.bsa.bsa" or something like that. Should I rename these? Also, a quick explanation of how using these in the mod manager works would help me overall with my general understanding. Am I correct in thinking that the data folder is virtualized by mod organizerr and the .bsa's that you optimize and put in as mods overwrite the vanilla ones? If that is case, couldn't I just replace the vanilla files with the optimized ones in my actual data folder? Or would that be counter-productive? Thanks, ladies and gents! -
I am actually following the Skyrim Revisited right now. DDSopt is taking hours... hope it's worth it in the end! Already fresh installed Skyrim and working the Legendary Version instead.

...yeah, by move I meant the rules that I attempted to establish through BUM did not reflect on either BOSS after sorting or on my Mod Organizer. Actually, on BOSS it gave me errors for every move I made. I see now what I was doing wrong insofar as BUM and BOSS are concerned. Lesson learned. Too late for me, I am fresh installing. I never DDSopt'ed / Cleaned the Vanilla .esm's and I need to redo my file structure. I would also have to figure out how to add mods incrementally, to test them. I guess I could make separate profiles every time I want to add a mod. There are some I can't live without, ya know? Thanks again for the help!

Then there is something that I was not understanding, because I even hunted down the authors FAQ page and still couldn't get BUM to move them. I did read the resources, I am not very experienced and thus did not understand what they were trying to tell me. Even if I got the .esp's to move, I would still have the issue of Dual Sheath Redux not working through SUM, Mod Organizer, or by patching manually. The Oblivion Gates esp's I had removed were masters to the patch that I couldn't deactivate without an immediate CTD on startup. Running SUM did not overwrite the changes to my modlist even though I was running it through Mod Organizer. Thanks for the step by step, but I really don't appreciate the obligatory "read the resources" comment at the end there. I came here for human interaction and assistance, not to be told to go read the documentation. (Which I did) Either way, I doubt that would have solved my problem. I am sure that I messed up an .ini edit or tweak somewhere. Or one of the like, ten mods I added personally probably had random scripts that were causing me to CTD.
-
Thanks for the help, all. I am going to go ahead and just start over with the skyrim revisted legendary edition. I really think that I messed something up with SUM and BUM... or with running programs from inside of MO. I might have missed an .ini tweak here or there as well. I am a huge noob, and I think doing it over might not be a bad thing. Any tips on starting fresh with The Legendary Edition?
-
After taking a look at those links, I am not really sure that my situation is salvageable short of one of you masters coming to my house, haha. I think I will just redo everything. I have a vanilla backup, so I guess I can just delete my profiles on mod manager and start from scratch. The most frustrating part is that the CTD was seemingly out of nowhere. I only added a few mods to it as well. Kind of disheartening. On the bright side, would the mod be able to be easily re-installed in the proper order?

Bum through MO, check. This is what I have tried: I see the unsorted mods in the lower left panel, when I click on a .esp name it displays it in the top left next to ADD/OVERRIDE/FOR, then I click on the button on top-center to see MY modlist, then I select the mod that I want from my list to associate with the original unsorted one. Say the STEP Core Patch.esp says "add" to the left in the drop down, and "AFTER" next to Bashed Patch, 0.esp. When I click save rule it says that the rule is redundant and forces me to change to OVERRIDE. Like this https://imgur.com/4EL5z9A Not sure where to go from there.
-
No hostility intended, I am just frustrated that I broke it. =( I will read through these last few posts, see if I can't figure anything out. Thanks.
-
This guide doesn't tell me anything I haven't already figured out. when I right click to override it is greyed out, and when I set a user rule it will not apply it because ".esp is not on the masterlist" even thought that is THE REASON i have to move these manually in the first place. I am about to uninstall BUM and try moving them manually. On an unrelated note, since i removed the oblivion gates the Dual sheath redux patcher won't remove those .esp from the dependencies, cause start up ctd's. Should I consider starting from scratch? This feel overwhelming, especially since I thought I followed the STEP guide to a T. I would love to, but it says every rule that I create using that method is "invalid".
-
Oh man, I smell a start up CTD coming up with all of these changes. I removed the redundant .esp's concerning the oblivion gates. Did the Boss>Rebuild Bashed Patch> FNIS>SUM. Then I tried to use BUM to set user rules and it says that because the mods aren't recognized by the masterlist that they can't have overridden rules. What the heck? I also noticed that after using BUM to make those user rules the mod order in mod organizer did not change. Can I just move the four mods manually and lock them in the load order through Mod Organizer? This is a massive ass-pain.
-
Every time I try to change a user rule it tells me the rule is redundant, should I switch to override? I took a look at that page and I think it is outdated... It mentions BUM but doesn't explain how to use it.
-
Woah, what? How did I miss that?! Ok, I will take a look at those three. Is there a specific reason that ASIS is such a pain? One other thing, I am assuming that I run BUM through the MO to address this issue? I can find specifics on where to put the STEP Core Patch and for the others. So do I just open BUM and make specific rules to fix this?
-
i wish I could show you guys my Mod Organizer set up.... I don't think it's the oblivion gates because I probably played 100 hours with all three of them. I think that it might be asis being too aggressive. Can anyone glean anything from the papyrus log? I am walking to rescue the Priest of Arkay for the Dawnguard. It is happening in the wilderness... completely random. It is giving me the error sign at the top of Mod organizer, saying to move mods around in the load order.. should I do this manually?
