Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
danielleonyett replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
np! looking at my mod list - I realize that I actually separated the options folder into a separate mod and create the appropriate folder paths in that mod. then I just copy an optional file that I want to try out and paste it in the proper place within that mod. I do all of this in explorer, though, outside of MO because I'm more comfortable with that. just thought I'd pass that along in case it's an idea that interests you! so I have the better males mod (without the options folder) in my MO and then below that my new mod is called better males - options within that mod I have 2 main folders: the options folder (mine only contains hairy options because I'm not interested in the bodybuilding options) and the textures folder -

k, so I just dl'ed the nude favoredsoul meshes flaccid double clicked in MO move the options folder INTO the data folder, then set the data folder as the data folder for MO. once the mod is installed, then you go into the mod from the left pane and check things out, or you can open the folder in explorer if it's easier to move stuff around there. I guess I should expand on that - the reason I do it that way is so that I can switch between options and decide what I like instead of just using what Neovalen thinks looks best. -

you can type in the word "LOOT" into the search box at the top left - that's what I did because I was curious, too. as for better males - you should have downloaded 2 of the files from the mod page, a faces file and a body or underwear file. honestly, you can pick whichever 2 files you want. I'm not sure about the underwear files (because I like my guys nekkid), but the nekkid file that I choose includes 2 options folders. I believe they have a txt file that explains how to use the optional files. Personally, I uncheck the bodybuilder folder during installation because I'm not interested in those options, but I do like to choose how hairy my guys will be. -
MO won't automatically log-in to nexus
danielleonyett replied to danielleonyett's question in Mod Organizer Support
yeah, I did the whole delete browser history thing earlier today. After that I was having some issues with AutoComplete not remembering my name and password and I would have to manually type them in every time I'd try to log in to nexus (instead of just pressing "d" and having everything filled in for me) -
MO won't automatically log-in to nexus
danielleonyett replied to danielleonyett's question in Mod Organizer Support
I had the password correct both with IE and MO. Now I'm running into an issue with nexus (that I've experienced before) where I enter in my name and password, nexus takes me to a page that says I have the wrong name or password, I enter in the same name and password and nexus shows again that I have used the wrong name or password, yet, it shows me logged in at the top left.... -
MO won't automatically log-in to nexus
danielleonyett replied to danielleonyett's question in Mod Organizer Support
Just restarted my computer, couldn't duplicate being logged in and then logged out. So basically what is not working is that pressing the globe button in MO doesn't automatically log me in to the nexus, clicking "visit on nexus" for a mod in MO also does not log me in. I have to manually log in every time. -
MO won't automatically log-in to nexus
danielleonyett replied to danielleonyett's question in Mod Organizer Support
OK - very weird development. I just restarted my computer, opened MO, clicked on the globe to take me to nexus, it showed me logged in to nexues. I the closed out Internet Explorer, hit the globe again in MO, and now I'm no longer logged in to nexus.... downloading works fine once I have manually logged in to nexus -
MO won't automatically log-in to nexus
danielleonyett replied to danielleonyett's question in Mod Organizer Support
Thanks for the response, GrantSP. I tried changing my password and it still won't work. Even uninstalled MO (again) and reinstalled it and put it new, strictly alphanumeric password and it doesn't work :( -
MO won't automatically log-in to nexus
danielleonyett replied to danielleonyett's question in Mod Organizer Support
I'd really rather not change my password, but it may have something to do with having a non-alphanumeric character.... Edit: I can't seem to get it to work with a strictly alphanumeric password either. -
ARGH! I've been trying to figure this out for HOURS so maybe someone here knows what's going on (and it's probably something stupid and easy).... I've got the settings - nexus tab configured to auto log-in, proper password too. I tried clicking the "associate...links" button in case that might help. I've tried raising and even lowering the NMM version in the settings - workarounds tab. I've tried running the nxmhandler.exe in case that might help. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing MO. I've tried re-installing MO and not using the advanced settings to re-direct the webcache folder. The only thing I haven't tried yet is to see if somehow Internet Explorer is somehow at fault. Any ideas?

when I see a problem texture, first I go to the same spot in the creation kit, locate the item, find the mesh, then open the mesh in nifskope and find the texture(s), then go to mod organizer right pane (data tab), scroll down to textures and see from which mod the texture is coming. mod organizer will also show what other mods supply the same texture but are being overwritten. and I recently did this with the same pieces at which you are looking because I had installed a lot more texture mods than neo has in his guide, and some of them were all funky and mismatched :P -

see, if neo had made the font the same size as yours then maybe I would have noticed that. actually, probably not.... my bad. I got to the point in the guide to DL the aMidianBorn Book of Silence files, looked at the extra files and saw that hotfix one, but noticed that neo didn't say to download it. so I didn't go any further and asked this question in the support forum but no one answered. thanks for pointing out my stupidosimousity, darkside. -

also, regarding the mod aMidianBorn Book of Silence - one of the Miscellaneous files is called "Staff of Magnus Hotfix" and the description states: "Hotfix for incorrectly-placed Staff of Magnus meshes. MUST BE INSTALLED IF YOU WANT NEW STAFF OF MAGNUS TEXTURES." it seems that this file should be included in the guide. can anyone confirm or deny this? thanks -

I'm going to make another request for those of us who are not comfortable with the whole torrent/utorrent stuff - please give us some specific instructions (in your guide) on how to download the non-nexus files! I finally got the Skyrim Realistic Overhaul stuff installed last week, after some major issues which included hitting some legitimate-looking download buttons and having to disable my Norton in order to download the real file. Long story short - today I found out that I had a BUNCH of unwanted, suspicious crap that got downloaded to my BRAND NEW, EXPENSIVE computer in the whole process. And just so no one yells at me - I am NOT saying that this is due to downloading the Skyrim Realistic Overhaul. Anyway, I know you're busy Neo and I appreciate you spending your time and making this guide for those of us who don't have as much knowledge and experience as you (or others). So please just take this as a request/suggestion to make your guide even more friendly for anyone who might be closer to my level of knowledge and experience :P Thanks! -

I think I've read (on the EFF page) that quite a few people are having similar issues. actually, all I see are comments of people having issues with the mod, which is why I'm considering using simple multiple followers instead. that mod author is active on that mod whereas expired doesn't seem to be as interested in EFF since he's probably so busy with RaceMenu. not complaining, though. i'll still probably at least try EFF. -
aMidianBorn Book of Silence
danielleonyett posted a question in Guide Support & Bug Reports (retired)
There is a file in the download section of the aMidianBorn mod page that is a fix for the Staff of Magnus. Apparently the mod author incorrectly packaged some files for the staff in the main mod. Neo did not include this fix in his guide. So should this file be ignored or added to the guide? -

ooh, I'd also like to recommend download instructions for mods that are not on nexus like Skyrim Realistic Overhaul and K. Hairdos. I just now got to KS Hairdos and haven't started yet, but I was near tears trying to DL Skyrim Realistic Overhaul :P edit: never done a torrent thingy in my life til yesterday -

np glad to help :) btw, can you add some clarification for Animated Dwemer Lift Doors? We figured that we need ALL the files you include in your download, but they're kinda packaged wonky :P -

Hi, neo. On your guide you instruct us to not install some of the files from Vivid Landscapes in order to preserve files from Animated Clutter. I'm just wondering if you accidentally missed 3 files - /meshes/furniture/orcfurniture/orcendtable01.nif /meshes/architecture/orclonghouse/orcdoor01.nif /meshes/architecture/farmhouse/interior/basement/farmbtrapdoor02.nif thanks -

danielleonyett replied to danielleonyett's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports (retired)
I'm also thinking that might be the case, but just wanted some confirmation. the installation for these files must have changed recently because I had just dl'ed them not too long ago, but had some issues (not with these files), got frustrated and decided to start all over again, lol! -
feature request - color rows in panes
danielleonyett replied to danielleonyett's question in Mod Organizer Support
@ Tannin Mkay. I wouldn't necessarily liken it to candy land, LOL! I would definitely liken it to a spreadsheet, though. Hear me out - with a spreadsheet, yeah, I can set a "categories" column or 100 different types of categories columns. But I can also color records however I want without creating yet another category column. It's just another organizational tool which has the benefit of making really long, plain black and white lists less daunting to look at. It also makes it easier to visually, at a glance, discern differences between records while they are all together WITHOUT filtering - this can be handy for seeing how different types of records relate to all the other records. There are reasons why color-coding is used so often by businesses, especially when it comes to organizing inventory, filing systems, etc. And I'm not suggesting that you (as the author) would be the one to determine which mods get what colors, making everyone's mod into a candy land . I think it should just be an option that users can set individual records to whatever colors they want (again, similar to a spreadsheet). In MO I use the dark style sheet and I would expect that when I install a new mod, the color of the row would just be the default (black) until I decide to change it. Anyway, I'm grateful for the features that are already present. I just love spreadsheets and would love to see some similar features! Thanks for your response and also the opportunity to make suggestions!
