  1. In the Draft WB Guide, we've been suggesting that the reader rename the BAIN archives to match the name in the STEP guide (e.g. 1-(FPS)HQ College of Winterhold_V2-2552-V2.zip). I like the "groupings" approach and have followed it for the texture mods, but I'm curious what you all do with the remaining mods that are in the other sections of STEP (e.g. interface, gameplay, sounds). Continue numbering? Add the letter of the STEP section? I'm trying to find something consistent that I can use. Any suggestions are welcome.
  2. @s4n - Methinks you're right. Not a huge deal, but something to be aware of.
  3. The soft link needs to be in ..\common\skyrim\data pointing to the skyrim root folder. Then just create a root directory at the appropriate place in the archive containing the files you want installed in Skyrim root, i.e. alongside the textures\ folder in the archive. Huzzah! Thank you s4n! Nice 'n clean... Edit - Spoke too soon. It seems that d3d9.dll with RCRN doesn't get recognized in the root folder of the package. Everything else worked as advertised.
  4. I created a softlink named root in my ..\common\skyrim folder and then packaged a small mod with a textures folder and a loose file (heythere.fx) as a 7z. The loose file ends up in the Data folder...how do I have to package it to get it into the Skyrim folder?? Do I need to put it into a folder named root or is there something I'm missing?
  5. Drat! Wish I had used this app before today. Just got owned by Steam.
  6. Thanks Monty. I'll try that. I'm getting the classic splashing effect and other odd physics glitches when maxing out my refresh rate.
  7. I started using RCRN 2.1 Pure today and really like the way it handles lighting. Very nice transitions during dawn and dusk outside, while keeping dungeons dark and eerie. One question for the RCRN users: do you know of any FPS Limiter Mod compatibility issues? I'm getting physics glitches and need to cap my framerate.
  8. I was able to assemble a simple archive out of the textures and the .esp, then dropped the other files into \skyrim by hand. Easy enough. I'm really not sure what advantage a symbolic link has - I'm not really sure I understand what they are or what they do. My google results only confused me further!
  9. Starting a thread for this, as it seems important enough to hijack other threads (thanks frihyland) ... Let's talk about some of the uses of symbolic links in manipulating apps to do what you want rather without them being any the wiser! Is there any way to get WB to install files/folders to the root Skyrim directory? I'm trying to install RCRN 2.1 using it, but can't seem to get the shaders folder and other files to install there.
  10. Monty - is there a specific place in STEP you need to put it or is it strictly like the original FXAA post processor that goes into the root Skyrim folder? Edit - nevermind. I see there's a textures and .esp that needs installing, as well.
