  1. I had this exact same problem and damned if I can't remember how I fixed it. All I can say is that with my current playthrough I don't have it and I followed the guide to the letter. Maybe just a little snow texture mod would do the trick?
  2. Great point, thanks. After checking I did exclude it, so it's not that. Looking at just reinstalling the audio mods, which in some cases means re-patching. If SRO works out and Lexy adds it, it'll be a big overhaul. Maybe I'll wait till then to do it if I can't figure anything else out.
  3. I too am in the troubleshooting phase. So far I've been able to manage all the little glitches minus one...I'm missing all kinds of audio files. No music, no player footsteps, no weapon contact sounds. All of the necessary audio files are in one or more of the installed mods, and I've validated all my vanilla game files. I'm quite the noob when it comes to audio, so this is driving me bonkers. I've been messing with Immersive Sounds, Audio Overhaul, and Lucidity to no avail. I will definitely post a solution if I find one.
  4. Wow! I like those images a lot. I've been thinking about screwing around with the ENB. I have a pretty powerful gaming laptop, albeit with an outdated NVIDIA 965, and certain ENBs do...unconscionable things to my framerate. Good thing I'm not too picky! I can do 20 FPS no problem Advancement in technology these days is crazy too. When I bought my laptop about a year and a half ago, anything with a 10-series graphics card was WAY out of a reasonable price range. There are now rigs that come with those cards pre-installed for $650 (although not much else). Such is life.
  5. I did indeed. I did exactly what the guide says. I'm totally stumped, but it's no big deal since I found a workaround for now. If I can get full stability otherwise I'll probably toy around with it some more. I'm way more pumped that Immersive Weapons is finally out! This next guide update will be big!
  6. I had that exact same problem, Anubitz. I was in the process of figuring it out when I ran into an issue with CTDs in any city (including Morthal, Riverwood, etc.) and got distracted by that bigger problem so I haven't found a solution for the blue rocks yet. I think Lexy is right; Majestic Mountains caused me trouble in the past, but nothing that can't be fixed with a little fiddling. IMHO those sexy textures are worth it! If anyone is interested, the CTDs were caused by WICO's .esps, whether in the NPC Retexture Merge or standalone. I can't for the life of me figure out why (WICO is a fine mod that shouldn't cause issues if you install it right), so I'm just building my own little merged patch with all the .esps from the NPC Retexture Merge minus WICO for now.
  7. Ah, WICO. Such a beautiful and well-made mod, but so troublesome if you're not careful. Luckily, it wasn't that; it was the facegen data! Now I just have to run around all of hell's half-acre making lists of who has bad faces and fix them all in the CK With the Legacy of the Dragonborn 4.0+ update, there is no longer an .esp file with the mod. It is feature complete at this point and will only be updated in minor installments from here on out according to the mod author. Try downloading all of those files from the guide now. Lexy just updated them a few hours ago, so if you have it all up to date you should have no missing masters. EDIT: By "those files" I mean the Merged Patches and the Conflict Resolutions.
  8. Indeed I did. I just tried again for fun and it still did not work. Thanks for checking; I've only added a few mods outside of the guide, none of which should be affecting NPCs at all. Other examples of bad NPCs are Beirand, Fianna, and Marise Aravel. I will keep probing for a solution. Edit: Going to try toying with facegen data in the CK. Found it on a forum and then you suggested it! Probably my best shot. Thanks!
  9. Hi guys, I'm having a minor issue that is driving me pretty bonkers here. (FYI I just updated to the new conflict resolution files as of today 4/10 and it didn't change anything.) I finished up the installation and was running smoothly minus some blackface issues with various NPCs that apparently the Conflict Resolutions weren't taking care of. I was able to solve most of them by manually playing around with the face meshes in the conflicting mods. But I still had various blackface NPCs, mainly males (Redguards, blacksmiths, some elves) but a few females not covered by Bijin, Ordinary Women, Fresh Faces, etc. This can be fixed with the "setnpcweight" command but must be done every time the game is loaded, and a few dozen people are affected so I needed to fix it. After some fiddling, I found out that the culprit is NPC Retexture - Conflict Resolution SSE. Remove that, and everyone that was screwed up looks fine! The problem is that since that is a master file for NPC Retexture Merge SSE, I have to deactivate that as well, which obviously causes issues with the mods it contains (e.g. the Men of Winter such as Brynjolf now have blackface and vanilla hair textures). Although the NPC Retexture CR file is the clear culprit for me, it's obviously not happening to everyone here. I've done the basic idiot checks (global priority, etc.) so I'm straining to find out what the heck went wrong. This is the first time I've ever been unable to solve the blackface issue easily. I need Nazeem to look pretty when I kill him P.S. Thanks for recommending The Truth. I've been looking to try a new ENB lately. I wonder if it will look good with Balimund's BIG UGLY DISCOLORED FACE
  10. Confirming that this issue has been resolved. 1. Make sure you're extracting your BSAs in the right place. That would be the folder of the mod where the BSA came from. Delete the BSA afterwards. 2. Make sure that any mod that will be part of a merge and has a BSA has been extracted properly so the files transfer. Thanks again!
  11. Thanks Lexy! I did ensure that I had the Merge Plugins setup exactly like the screen shots. Based on what you and Altair have kindly told me, it looks like BSA extracting is my weak spot and I may have gone a little haywire there I will get to work on fixing up those merges and making sure my BSAs are extracted in the right places. I'm now quite confident that's the issue. Thanks both of you for your assistance! I'll update soon if/when things are fixed in case anyone else is having BSA issues.
  12. Thanks Altair! I did do that upon installation, and I just checked the Extracted BSAs folder I made and I do see files for those mods there, so I'm pretty sure it went through. All you have to do in BAE is drag the .bsa into the drop area and extract, right? You don't have to "save" or anything? That also makes me wonder about Majestic Mountains, which looks like it's giving me the same issue but didn't have an "extract BSA" instruction in the guide. I'm wondering if I should just get rid of the merge and the mods and reinstall them fully to make sure I hit every step without screwing up EDIT: Should those extracted files also be present in the merge? Because they're not. But the .bsas they came from are.
  13. Hey guys I'm a veteran modder who has had a fantastic time building and testing this setup based around my favorite mod ever (Legacy of the Dragonborn) and it blows my mind that people have taken the time to put this guide together considering the amount of work that involves. These authors are the best and I'm so pumped to get a real playthrough started, but I've recently run into a problem that is driving me up the wall because I simply can't figure out how to fix it. I'm really hoping I'm just making a stupid mistake somewhere. (P.S. I'm following the guide to the letter so that is my mod list, with LOOT determining load order.) I've finished the main guide, meaning I've installed everything in it (and am updating it daily), and it's running quite stable except for one major issue I've just now realized: a LOT of the merged .esps are failing to fully activate in-game. Example: the Heads-Up Display Merge has A Matter of Time, iHUD, and Lock Overhaul. So I merge the three mods (I'm no stranger to Merge Plugins), add the new merged .esp to the order and place it in its spot, activate it, and then deactivate the three original mods. Upon loading the game (with Heads-Up Display.esp active), Lock Overhaul is active and shows an MCM as it should. However, neither AMoT nor iHUD are functional and there are no MCMs for them. My first thought was that Merge Plugins missed some files that needed to be manually added to the merged .esp (like the reminder in the guide says), but AMoT and iHUD have nothing but .esp, .bsa, and the meta.ini. All three .esp.merged files correctly show in the >merge>plugins folder of the Heads-Up Display merged mod, and I think both their .bsas are in the right place with the merged .esp. Am I correct that there's nothing to add? Is that the wrong setup for the merged mod? Here's where it gets weird though: I loaded the game with the merged .esp as well as the individual ones. Of course, normally you wouldn't do this because it defeats the purpose of a merge, but I wanted to see what happened. Maybe I could force their MCMs and then remove the old single .esps and be good to go? Sure enough, not only do AMoT and iHUD activate in this case, but they each have duplicate MCMs! So the game detects that there are two instances of the mod at that point, which is correct (one from the merged .esp and one from the original single .esp that should be able to be deactivated). But if I remove the individual .esps and run with just the Heads-Up Display merged .esp, AMoT and iHUD disappear again! So I guess the TL;DR is that I have a number of mods that will only activate in-game with their original non-merged .esps. If they are part of a merge, they are not activating. Majestic Mountains is another example. No matter what I do with the Landscape Environment and Clutter merge, the only way to get Majestic Mountains to work in-game is to re-activate the old single .esps, which makes merging pointless (in that case all the necessary textures look to be in the right place in the merged mod, so what is missing?). Is there manual work that I have to do after Merge Plugins makes the merge? Am I missing files? Please somebody just come along and say "you just have to do this, you moron" so I can get on with this, because I think I'm losing my mind
