  1. I've never tried to do a vanilla start with a heavy modded game... Always either used a savegame outside the Helgen tunnel or LAL. I do remember there's a mod that gives you a choice of the amount of fall damage... Can't remember which! I think it's a choice you make in the installation phase, or a choice of esp... Not in game - but I may be wrong.
  2. If you add that you always delete the contents of the FNIS_Output folder before running FNIS, the files will all go to overwrites. If you don't delete what you had previously generated, the existing files will be overwritten and new files will go to overwrites.
  3. I just got confronted with the new MO2 behaviour of not sending all files to overwrites (which is a bad move, IMO, it disrupts the way I organized things) when running FNIS. The guide says that after FNIS completes successfully you'll have three folders in overwrites (meshes, tools and scripts) but I did NOT have meshes. I suspected they were being sent by MO2 to overwrite directly the original, and so they were. It will still work this way, but I don't like it so, fortunately, there is a workaround (my thanks to Ponurymazepa at Nexus): you have to rename FNIS.ini0 to FNIS.ini and then edit the file redirection line removing the ' so that it is read and point to some EXISTING folder like RedirectFiles=F:\Steam\steamapps\common\Mod Organizer 2\mods\FNIS_output. When running FNIS, you need to also check the "File Redirection" box, and that's it. All filles will go into either the proper folder or the overwrites, in the latter case just move them to FNIS_Output.
  4. I would. What I did after running the meshes through NIF Optimizer was to use BSArch to repack everything neatly in two archives, Vigilant - Textures.bsa (with compression, only the textures folder) and Vigilant.bsa uncompressed with all the other files. I don't use the high resolution pack but I suppose you can also overwrite the original assets with the high resolution and then repack.
  5. You mentioned running a test earlier. I don't actually remember but does entering the Temple of Stendarr happen at the beginning of the quest? If so, it could be worth testing again with only Vigilant active on a vanilla game. If the problem doesn't replicate, then its cause is likely not within Vigilant. You could then add the rest of the build slowly to try and catch the conflict. If you don't have other clues as to what may be causing the crash, it could be the only way to go... You can also check vigilant's assets for conflicts and begin looking for the cause of the crash within the mods that override vigilant's assets.
  6. I ran the whole meshes folder through NIF Optimizer, having temporarily removed the facegen meshes. It seems all of the meshes contained in the vigilant/meshes/effects folder were processed, including those you mentioned. Here's the partial log with only the stuff that was edited by NIF Optimizer:
  7. I the nexus down at the moment? It has been really slow for me today and now I can't access it. Ran a website availability test and apparently it's really down. Have they announced anything?
  8. Wyrmstooth has been back for a while now, it's being updated and is now version 1.17B (updated last month). It still has Legacy integration support, would be great to see it restored in a future update!
  9. Could this replace OBIS? I'm wondering about compatibility with ICAIO, Immersive Patrols, Morrowloot Ultimate. I've been playing Wyrmstooth, my port, with Legacy integration and really hope Jonx0r ports it "officially" soon.
  10. Shouldn't we add RSChildren Patch - BS Bruma.esp and RSC ETaC RW.esp to the RS Children merge?
  11. Lexy, has the replacer esp for Skyrim Sewers been changed to reflect the mod's update to version 4.13 on May 2? I checked this version of the mod against 4.12 (from April 17, which actually reads 4.13) and the plugins are different in size, with 4.12's SkyrimSewers.esp being 1.687.681 bytes and the latest 4.13 being 1.738.682. The replacer esp seems to be the same as the one I had downloaded in April and it's 1.687.712 bytes (very close to the older esp). The author mentions a few fixes in the latest release so maybe whatever issue was going on has been addressed?
  12. I think your merges are always stored locally and you can simply ignore the username. I don't know if it's useful for anything other than providing and reading feedback on whether or not each plugin merges well. Have you set up the integrations and the correct path to MO2? If you have, then having "copy general assets" should indeed copy everything to the merge folder, unless you have bsa files. Merge Plugins lacks the ability to unpack bsas for SSE, since it uses BSAOpt for that purpose.
  13. "Dynamic Things is somewhat taxing because of the way it works. It runs a quest that checks every 4 seconds (by default) for any decorative containers within a certain distance from the player, and replaces them with working versions of the same containers." https://www.reddit.com/r/ultimateskyrim/comments/6l4ott/performance_impact_of_dynamic_things/ This doesn't sound bad in itself but it IS extra work for our papyrus. In messy town/city cells with lots of AI banter, scripted sequences, clever followers like Inigo, etc... I think any extra weight could be the straw that breaks the camel's back, so I prefer to leave Dynamic Things out (I also ported it and was quite happy with it for a while) and also prefer not to activate iNeed's dynamic food replacer.
  14. I looked at it and thought for me it would mean a lot of double and triple checking if something I think should be activated doesn't respond. Grabbing glowing mushrooms would be an even bigger nightmare. Do you know if there would be any means of knowing whether you're stealing or not? Unless you assume that anything that isn't yours, isn't yours (regardless of its ownership status in the game). Now that's immersion that even Requiem didn't dare LOL
  15. I'm with you. Pain in the arse for a quest that hangs there forever if you don't want to become a lich. It's half of an excellent mod, really (I don't mean it isnt' a good mod, but it just caters for one possible choice). Besides all it does for Legacy is add one book to the museum. One that you can't get unless you kill the priest (that is, until SirJesto fixes that from within LOTD's system - which will still leave you with a broken/unfinished quest because that's something that should be fixed in Undeath itself, obviously, not in Legacy).
  16. Immersive College of Winterhold updated to 5.0.2: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/17004?tab=files
  17. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/16659 might be worth a try since both "A Closer Look" and "Simple Face-to-face" are down at nexus.
  18. A Closer Look could already be replaced by Simple Face to Face Conversation, but that mod is also down at nexus...
  19. Have you got Frostfall working with this build? I hear it's not as stable as the LE version... And btw, do you know of addons that allow you to gain a temporary boost of heat by doing exercise? Like running (well, at least, sprinting), mining, chopping wood, all forms of combat. Not enough to survive just by being active, more like a little boost to add some "immersion" ;)
  20. "Practice makes perfect", remember? Leonard has been practising! I'll add that to my mod list (probably replacing Pumping Iron :P).
  21. Next time I hear "Alms. I said "alms" you backbiter!" THIS is my answer. Killing your opponent optional.
  22. I'm glad it worked for you... I'm stuck with version 1709 because I won't be updating drivers while my CPU runs at 92ºC. Seriously, why do they f''k up so badly? I'm sure there will be people with pc's bricked because of a windows feature update. Most users probably won't know what's wrong with their system. I'm happy with windows 10 overall, but I can't stand the policy of a new OS being forced upon us twice a year. Nor the fact that I have to disable windows update altogether and leave my system more vulnerable if I want to postpone an update. They need a class action suit by people that suffered real damage because of their policy.
  23. May I ask a question... From what I've read, Smash beats Bash in that it can be configured to resolve conflicts on a sub-record level. Besides that, it's also merging levelled lists and doesn't completely merge mods into the smashed patch. So, we're running Wrye Bash only to point out a few extra mods to merge, a workaround to merge those mods, another workaround to add some tweaks and Smash to merge levelled lists and perform its CR "voodoo" (which we've mostly been dealing with manually, either through our own efforts or, mostly, through Lexy's - so, extra question, are we abandoning the CR method?). All of that instead of simply running Wrye Bash. I'm truly sorry, I know you'll all hate me for the scepticism, but I fail to see the benefits of all this. If Mator's Smash did replace Wrye Bash in a similarly straightforward way, I guess it'd be worth a try. I think that, for one, Wrye Bash has its limitations in that when merging mods it uses the simple "last record wins" and doesn't do sub-record sorting, but that's exactly what Merge Plugins Standalone also does, so we're simply not avoiding that when using this procedure. Merging those mods prior to using Smash will help it from doing any sub-record conflict-resolving between those mods. If someone could positively show me the benefits of all this complication, I'd like to learn. And I apologise, again, to Lexy and all who've been testing Smash so far if I'm asking too many questions only due to my ignorance.
  24. Just wanting to add my windows hate to yours, yesterday I rolled back to build 1709 because my fans went crazy after the update, my core temperature reached 92ºC (and the OS didn't even shut down to prevent damage). I shut down, waited (BIOS wouldn't even allow the OS to load due to excess heat), rebooted after 1h and the overheating happened within seconds. I considered replacing my cooling system, but decided to rollback instead - sure enough, though the PC had to endure the pain of excess heat for a few minutes, there is no more overheating with 1709. Fans went quiet for a day now, even playing SSE, which is what they've always been. I had to disable Windows Update (using home edition) which is not good. I'm skipping this build entirely and possibly will do a fresh install of the next one, hoping it's not so overridden with bugs. Microsoft could have melted my CPU and I doubt that I could have sued them about it. They're not living up to the responsibility they assumed when they decided to take from the user the ability to control OS updates.
  25. Could Undeath + Sacrosanct + Moonlight Tales be an optional pack, with their own patch in addition to the CR?
