  1. Is that typically the standard procedure when adding a mod? Is there a way to separate the mods in MO's left side window to easily tell each section apart?
  2. Is there anything special I need to do to add the above mod? This is the first time I have modded any game. I'm not really sure what happens outside of following the guide. Do I need to run any of the patches again?
  3. Thanks. I just created an account and will start using that.
  4. I just finished installing S.T.E.P. Extended 2.2.9.2 with the exception of the following mods: Double Cursor Fix, Disease Descriptions and Burn Freeze Shock Effects. No other mods have been added. When I start a new game during the opening carriage ride one of the textures on Ralof is out of place *sometimes*, but not always. Also, sometimes, but not always the carts stray from the path. In one example - screen shot below - the horses tried to climb a mountain. Another time after entering Helgen, they didn't make a turn and ran into a building. If I continue to let it run it seems to correct its self. I didn't have any of these issues when I was "benchmarking" during the install. Benchmarking is in quotes, because FRAPS failed to log after my first two benchmarks.
  5. Thanks for the prompt reply. I do agree, this seems to be a very friendly and kind forum.
  6. It has been a long time since I have been a member of any type of forum and some of the new features have me stumped. How do you mark a post as "Solved"? Is there a preferred method regarding posting images? Tags are completely new to me. Is there a guide on how to use them? Those are all the questions I can think of at the moment, but I'm sure I'll have more. Please be kind. :)
  7. Thanks Greg. I did go ahead and merge the two, after watching a video by Gopher on YouTube. @Kelmych: I haven't reached 2.N yet. I am about part way through 2.F ATM.
  8. I must be missing something, or I'm just dense, but I don't see a STEP Extended patch. Just a couple of references to it. I thought that installing all the mods in the guide was STEP Extended.
  9. I'm following the STEP 2.2.9.2 Guide and I have a question regarding the installation of Complete Crafting Overhaul and the CCO Compatibility Patch for WAF True Weapons. Do I merge these or install them as separate plugins? The guide doesn't state, and I'm still a little confused about merging in MO, as a first time user. Thanks.
  10. OK. I bit the bullet and ordered a Samgsung 850 EVO 250 GB SSD and an EVGA GeForce GTX 970 with 4GB GDDR5. I don't have a Windows 7 disk, so I think I'll just stick with Window 10. This is a fairly new PC, but it wasn't purchased with gaming in mind. I've already replaced the power supply because the original didn't have enough power cables. I'm guessing it would be best to wait until I get the new hardware installed before I attempt a new install? I'm tempted to try just the STEP Core while I wait to see what happens and give me some more experience with installing mods. When I get the SSD, I'm planning on doing a clean install with it anyway rather than try to migrate the data from one drive to another. I really appreciate the help that has been offered so far.
  11. OK. I will look into core STEP 2.2.9.2. Is is still possible to get Windows 7? That is something I would be willing to consider and I will research the dual boot today. I'll also check into getting an SSD. How large does it need to be? I'm not a heavy gamer, I only have Skyrim now, and I played EVE Online last year. What about ENB? Does that cause a large VRAM hit? I may have done something wrong when I installed that, as it is running when I tried running Skyrim Vanilla from Steam.
  12. Standing at the Skill Improvement Stones: RAM: 1,968(BM), VRAM: 1,926(MB), CPU: 22%, GPU:99%, GPU: 136 F, THREADS: 43, FPS: 30 In the Embershard Mine: RAM: 1368(MB), VRAM: 1,490(MB), CPU:10%, GPU:99%, GPU: 159 F, THREADS: 40, FPS:36
  13. I just installed Skyrim Performance Monitor and the results didn't look good. Just standing by the Skill Improvement Stones my GPU was maxed at 100%. I'm beginning to think I need to go with a lighter mod, but I'm not sure how best it would be to proceed. I don't mind reformatting the drive and starting clean. I look at it as a learning experience. When I am able to get better hardware I will try again. Any suggestions?
  14. I have. But I'm not sure what happened. I did notice that I had plugins checked that were still missing master files. When I unchecked them things were working. I'm not really sure if installing Vividian or the plugins fixed the issue. Have you checked to see if you have any plugins with missing masters active? My issue now is low fps with my hardware.
  15. With my limited VRAM, do you think it would be a good idea to go back and replace all the 2k and higher files with 1k? A new video card is not in the budget anytime soon.
  16. Just for kicks, I jumped ahead in the SR:LE Guide and installed Vividian ENB. I'm no longer getting the CTD when I start a new game. I've now disabled it and will continue with the guide and re-enable it when I get to that section.
  17. I found this thread that seems to be the same issue I'm currently having and I have posted to that.
  18. I have done a clean reinstall and after completing 3.8.3.5 Shadows Tweaks I ran Skyrim and received a CTD when starting a new game. It does not occur when ENB is turned off. I found this thread that seems to be the same issue I'm currently having and I have posted to that.
  19. I am having similar issues as the OP. CTD after completing section 3.8.3 of te SR:LE Guide. The CTD occurs when I try to start a new game I don't have any saved games. This happens when starting the Skyrim Revisited profile from Mod Organizer, the Vanilla Profile from Mod Organizer and when starting straight from within Steam. In all three cases the screen shows that the ENB is active. Below is a screen shot from the game started from Steam. Here is my enblocal.ini Edit to add: My CTD does NOT occur when I disable ENB via ENB Organizer. enblocal.ini
  20. Aah! No, I did not turn off my ENB. I didn't know I needed to. I thought I could run vanilla without making any changes. The last thing I installed before crashing was Wiseman303s Critter Fixes. I hadn't run the game since after creating the Skyrim Revisited profile.
  21. Thanks for the replies. My thinking also was to run the game after each section, until I couldn't figure out my CTD yesterday. I was thinking it had something to do with a missing prerequsite, my my Vanilla profile would also CTD. @RonHiler: I was following your YouTube guide, along with Neovalen's written guide, but the differences between the two only made me more confused. I am was using the most current guide, dated 25 August 2016. Should I try with with the 8 March 2016 revision or the current 25 August one? Maybe I'm just in over my head... I have no modding experience ATM.
  22. I'm am about ready to begin my third attempt at installing Skyrim Revisited. I believe I understand the mistakes I made previously, but I have a general question I would like clarified before I begin again. Admittedly, I haven't read the guide through completely, but I do plan to before I start. I'm not sure if this will be answered there or not. Should I completely install the project before I attempt to run the game (aside from the first start to create the .ini files, etc.)? Thanks.
  23. Well, after I finished installing Wiseman303s Critter Fixes I tried running Skyrim and got a CTD. Same result with the Vanilla profile. I have no idea what may have caused this. Now that I have a little better understanding of what is going on with some of the tools. I'm going to reformat my drive and start again.
  24. Thank you. I'm not sure why it didn't show up when I searched my HDD. One other question: How often should I run LOOT?
  25. Hello all, I'm new to gaming and modding, but I wanted to try and improve the visuals of Skyrim and this seems like a good way to do that. I've been following the Guide dated 25 August 2016, but I've run into a problem. Installing Crash Fixes, the guide calls for v11. I could only find v12, so I installed that. The special instructions says "After installation, open SKSE/Plugins/CrashFixPlugin.ini in a text editor and make the following changes:" Only problem, I don't have that ini file. I don't even have an SKSE folder! I installed SKSE per the instructions. Any idea what I've done wrong or is it the difference in version numbers? Thanks, Kent
