dotNet not registering

NomenNescio

Question

I recently switched to Windows 10, and now MO tells me dotNet is not installed or outdated. I tried following the link https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17851 but the installer I download just tells me that all things are in order and refuses to run the installer. I can only assume MO isn't familiar with W10 and can't find dotNet.

Have you come across this before?

All you really need to do is open the Windows setting called "Turn Windows features on and off" and enable the .NET Framework 3.5. It may require a reboot but that should be sufficient to allow MO to use the specific .NET framework.

We may need to re-evaluate the instructions on which .NET version is needed and what are the best steps to enable it, but since a new version of MO may be appearing shortly, it may wait until then.
