WindowsError: [Error 3] The system cannot find the path specified: u'D:\\Steam\\SteamApps\\common\\Skyrim\\Data\\meshes\\architecture\\whiterun\\wrcitywalls\\wrwallcap01.nif'

This error shows up when I click on Installers in Wrye Bash. Anyone have any ideas?

Im wondering why its looking for something missing in the Skyrim/Data instead of Mod Organizer/Data? Shouldn't all mods installed with MO only appear in MO folder?

Why are you clicking on Installers in Wrye Bash? Shouldn't be any need to.

And it's checking for a Vanilla file. Check and see if the file's actually there for one. Secondly, that path you've listed, is that exactly what it says? Cause if so there seems to be a stray u there. Additionally the double slashes are not usual in most paths I've seen.

Nozzer66, thanks for responding again. I'm clicking on Installers cause I'm curious and trying to understand the program. I will stop clicking on it.  ::(:

Yes, that path is copy/pasted from the error report, so thats how it looks precisely. As far as the file actually being there, no it is not. The 'meshes' folder is not there at all. But I was under the impression that was normal when using Mod Organizer. That's why I was curious because things should only be added into Mod Organizer folders. Correct?

Also, this is the smaller less whiny version of the question I asked here https://forum.step-project.com/topic/7784-error-message-when-clicking-installers-for-first-time-and-general-lostness/ in the Wrye Bash portion of this forum. Feel free to tackle those more general "I don't get it" questions if you have time.

Thanks in Advance

That's fine, was just curious, click anywhere you want. :)

I would still check and see if that file's actually there, first. That file should be there.

Might be worth doing a quick Steam File Integrity check. Go to Steam, right click on Skyrim in your Library, then click Properties. Click the Local Files tab and then use the Verify Integrity of Game Cache option.

I had all ready done the Integrity check. I just looked at my old backup of Skyrim folder (old as in 3 days, it was the working version I had before restarting the Wrye Bash/ STEP process.), and that meshes folder is not there either. Surely that wrwallcap01.nif file can't be the only missing file it should have an error on since "Meshes" is three steps up in the directory structure, that should be a lot of missing files

True. I found the file under the unzipped Distant Decal Fix Mod > https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/31982/?

Why would it be looking for it under Skyrim/Data at this point?

Here is the whole scoop. I installed every mod originally through Mod Organizer. but nevever did anything with Loot or Wrye Bash. Only used TESVedit to clean DLC and update.esm. I backed up that whole skyrim and skyrim Mods folders, and moved it and then started over completly, trying to follow everything to the letter of the law. The point being, when I installed this mod before it never caused this error.

If I only installed STEP mods originally with Mod organizer, should I be able to just use LOOT and Wrye Bash o my old setup and make a bash patch?
