MO tells me to run FNIS on every startup

Question

Posted (edited)

Everything seemed to be working fine for me until I updated one of my animation mods and now MO tells me changes have been made for FNIS, i should rerun it. So I do it, and exit, and then the "Mod Organizer is locked while an executable is running" freezes on top of MO and won't go away even if I press unlock. i can access MO behind it still, and start the game, but when I'm done playing and go back to my desktop, the little window "locked while an executable is running" stays there and if I alt + f4 it away  and try to restart MO it will tell me MO is currently running so I have to end the process with the task manager. Just wondering what I can do to fix this since it's kind of annoying

There appears to be a bug in the FNIS checker, it will always open the dialog to run FNIS when an executable is run even if none of the animations mods have changed.Providing you did not select the “Remember Selection†and “Yes†when the dialog came up you can just select “No†and it should work as expected. If you did then go into settings, general tab and select “Reset Dialogs†to get it back. You can also disable the FNIS Checker in the plugins section. Reset MO if you do.

This is being looked at by Tannin in the Bug tracker issue 782.

Nope, it is run as long as fnis reports it failed to generate its data correctly. The actual problem is that fnis reports minor problems as errors so MO can't tell one from the other which means you have to fix ALL warnings in FNIS or disable the checker plugin.

The issue you linked to is about MO not unlocking after it ran fnis.
