Cleaned Bethesda ESMs and DDSoPTed Vanilla Textures

Vulgar1

Question

Where do the Cleaned Bethesda ESMs and Vanilla Textures optimized by DDSoPT go in relation to the Unofficial plugins and the new pseudo plugins created by MO in the left window pane?

Could or should this be added or clarified in the STEP 2.2.9 guide?

EDIT: A screen shot would be helpful.

Actually you all are wrong. HRDLC1 Optimized MUST come after at least HighResTexturePack02. Why? HighResTexturePack02 will incorrectly overwrite HRDLC1 Optimized textures otherwise. I believe I mentioned this once before, but can't remember where. The correct order is:

  • Vanilla Optimized
  • Distant Decal Fix
  • Unofficial Skyrim Patch
  • Dawnguard
  • Dawnguard Optimized
  • Unofficial Dawnguard Patch
  • HearthFires
  • Hearthfires Optimized
  • Unofficial Hearthfire Patch
  • Dragonborn
  • Dragonborn Optimized
  • Unofficial Dragonborn Patch
  • HighResTexturePack01
  • HighResTexturePack02
  • HighResTexturePack03
  • HRDLC1 Optimized
  • HRDLC2 Optimized
  • HRDLC3 Optimized
  • Unofficial High Resolution Patch

Yeah my first post was kind of half question and half suggestion. I just leave the pseudo mods at the top, then Cleaned ESMs (folder with all 4 esms), then the optimized textues, and then the Unofficial plugins. It seems to work well like that.

Anywho, I was looking at the new changes in the unfinished 2.2.9 guide. I noticed the change in section 2.D with the addition of the pseudo mods and thought "hmm.. that's different. What up with that?"

I just like to stay ahead of the game.

Thanks for the reply Double You. :thumbsup:

I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes, but I follow the SR:LE order...

* Vanilla Optimized

* Dawnguard

* Dawnguard Optimized

* Hearthfire

* Hearthfire Optimized

* Dragonborn

* Dragonborn Optimized

* HighResTexturePack01

* HRDLC1 Optimized

* HighResTexturePack02

* HRDLC2 Optimized

* HighResTexturePack03

* HRDLC3 Optimized

* Cleaned Vanilla ESMs

* Skyrim Script Extender

Copied that from the SR:LE wiki page.

That looks about right to me.

EDIT: Actually this one seems best further in SR:LE, it includes the Unofficial patches as well.

  • Vanilla Optimized
  • Unofficial Skyrim Patch
  • Dawnguard
  • Dawnguard Optimized
  • Unofficial Dawnguard Patch
  • HearthFires
  • Hearthfires Optimized
  • Unofficial Hearthfire Patch
  • Dragonborn
  • Dragonborn Optimized
  • Unofficial Dragonborn Patch
  • HighResTexturePack01
  • HRDLC1 Optimized
  • HighResTexturePack02
  • HRDLC2 Optimized
  • HighResTexturePack03
  • HRDLC3 Optimized
  • Unofficial High Resolution Patch

Maybe in your technique (I think you have a simplified version of optimizing them), but for the optimization in the DDSopt guide, it matters, as redundant files are removed and then placed in the HRDLC1 optimized version and not the HRDLC2. Most effects files will remain unoptimized otherwise with the DDSopt optimization.
