Question

will i absolutely HAVE to import mods from NMM to use this with an old Skyrim install? i have hundreds of mods, many of which rely on SKSE or something, so im darn near certain that something will break if i do this. would making a backup of my data folder be necessary / sufficient? is there any way to undo this process once begun? and what are the risks. the wiki says nothing on these topics

for the first time in years, my skyrim is running well, and stable. i just am not willing to take the risks involved in doing this. perhaps in the future, when i make a clean install, ill use MO to avoid the NMM misbehaviours, but manually migrating almost 200 mods from NMM is . . . unfeasible.
