Question

After sorting after game improvement compilations, STEP was a nice recent find, but after installing I've not been able to get a game started off..

The reason for this would appear to be the main story NPCs thus far. When I first started my fresh game, I found myself consistently stuck on the beheaded prisoner during the games start, never being able to make it to the block myself, until one rare case where my avatar decided to walk an alternative path (heading off to the left and around Ulfric) giving me my current game. However, after making my way to Riverwood with Hadvar, I'm now in Alvor's house with Sigrid standing at the top of the stairs, doing nothing else but stand there.

This is after the third fresh install of both the game and the compilation. Has no one else run into this issue?

Yeah it happens rarely that you get stuck at the chopping block. (1 in 10 for me give or take)

This is because the body is now a ragdoll that can get stuck between the block and you... making it so you cannot reach the point where the next animation takes over.

Never tried the one going around ulfric however!

As for sigrid getting stuck... just jump down behind her and bump into her to make her reach the next navmesh point.

This can also happen in vanilla... if an actor gets stuck, just try to bump him/her by sprinting.

I didn't get the chopping block issue anytime so far with a large extra-step-mod count (not Skyrim Revisited but my own selection). So some mod constellations you guys use increase the chance of getting stuck at that point.

I thought to try this, but it didn't work out for me. In the end I got it to work by running ahead, down the stairs, and blocking her for a while before allowing her to walk up to the scene.

Just hoping I don't get stuck with more of this kind of stuff down the line now.
