My world map is not showing any miscellaneous quest markers, not a single one. I have no idea why that is, and it's pretty godsdamn annoying.

Have you made sure, that you actually "activated" the misc quests by getting the quest started info, going to your journal, selecting Miscellaneous Quests and selecting the various side quests in the sub category?
