TexGen Error - DuplicateFormID in Skyrim.esm?

Question

Posted

Hi y’all - first of all I apologise if there’s something basic I missed, it’s my first time setting up DynDOLOD.

I have set up TexGen as per gamer poet’s tutorial, and after running TexGen.exe it’s giving me duplicate form ID in Skyrim.esm error:

“Skipped Load: Duplicate FormID[00002842] in file Skyrim.esm“

I have read the linked guide, however I am a bit confused as per my understanding this shouldn't happen in skyrim.esm. Again, sorry if there is something fundamental I’ve missed here. Been trying to figure this out for a few days now and can’t find anything relating to this. Thanks for any help!

P.S. I have checked the formID 00002842 in SSEedit and it appears to reference “Landscape” but there are no red error highlights

P.S. Forgot to mention, I am on 1.6.640 and blocked the recent steam update in December 23

For anyone stumbling on this with the same issue, this worked. I verified the integrity of my local file via steam and then just downgraded again and TexGen worked.

Thanks @sheson for helping so quickly!

Thanks @sheson for pointing that out.

Here are my logs, thanks for your support! https://ufile.io/f/kp9jw

Please let me know if you need anything else

The Skyrim.esm file is probably corrupt. Its CRC32 does not seem to match the current hat ships with 1.6.1170

Load it with a recent version of xEdit and check for similar error messages by the background loader.

Verify the game files in Steam to acquire the current version(s) of game the plugins.

Awesome, thanks for the quick reply @sheson

Btw I'm am on 1.6.640, not sure if that makes a difference. I'll verify the game integrity and downgrade again and see if it fixed the issue
