Huge performance issues after updating Dyndolod

nabu850

Question

I've been running a high preset Dyndolod alpha 119 before updating and I had no performance issues whatsoever. Yesterday, I updated Dyndolod and its resources to alpha 165 and I have since experienced massive performance issues when running the same preset as alpha 119. For example, I usually get around 60-70 fps around Riverwood. Now it drops from 60 fps to ~15 fps and stays like that for around 10 seconds and then it jumps back to 60 fps, rinse and repeat. The only new lod files I downloaded were optimized 3d LODs for Nature of the Wild lands, but they're not the problem as I still experience the same issues when disabling those lods when generating texgen/dyndolod

I have tried the following but nothing helps:

Putting preset to medium, lowering lod values in .ini, using tg and tll command in console, generating without complex grass

So even without the lod enabled by using the tll command I still get massive performance issues. Disabling Dyndolod makes my fps stable again.

My specs are: RTX 4070, i5-14600KF, 16GB RAM, Samsung 980 NVMe M.2 SSD

Here is my SSE log https://jumpshare.com/s/jgLd2r7sCKRreVwaYIZW

There is no occlusion esp as I haven't generated one on this particular session because I'm using one from a previous session to save on time when generating

Read https://dyndolod.info/Official-DynDOLOD-Support-Forum#Post-Logs which DynDOLOD debug log to also upload when making posts.

See https://dyndolod.info/Updatinghow to properly update a save game with a clean save. A clean save/new game should not have DynDOLOD script instances that could be dumped.

The script engine is being overloaded and all current scripts are being dumped, which includes some from DynDOLOD among all the others.
The dumping of starts starts with [(55003456)].FXBirdFleeSCRIPT.OnUpdate()

Consider using DynDOLOD DLL NG from https://dyndolod.info/Help/Large-Reference-Bugs-Workarounds.

The saves I used did not have any Dyndolod script instances according to Resaver. Even on a new save I'm still getting a lot of fps drops. Especially when I'm entering another cell. The thing is, I had no issues at all with alpha 119, and I would love to test it out again with that version if not for the "This version is not supported anymore" message when I try to run it. I guess the last thing left to do is trying out the DLL NG file.

The scripted dynamic LOD works pretty much the same since almost a decade. Any such issues would have been already reported/fixed.
Scripts being dumped is usually the result of low FPS/performance problems and not the other way around.

So I tried running Dyndolod with only the same mods that I used with the previous alpha version that I once used. Still a lot of frame drops. I tried running it without Dynamic LOD. Still a lot of frame drops. I have never had an issue like this when running alpha version 119. Can you please provide a working .exe of version 119 so I can test that one out again? Just to see if there is a difference now.
